Re: Friday Facts #201 - 0.15 Stable, but not really
I think the game right now in terms of launching a single rocket is "spot on" with any of the presets. Nothing about the the baseline is clunky. However, you did add "infinite research" drives "bigger and bigger bases" without adding in features to make "bigger and bigger bases" possible. I can see ...

I know this bug is fixed..but i'm not sure it was all good
In order to get the 300% bonus you will have to sandwich. This means in this case the sandwich the reactor produces 32GJ of heat in 200 seconds or 160 MW. This takes 16 HE's to eat this. With the new length limits you are forcing a column ...

You would have to regenerate. Once ore is "on the map", it is on "on the map".

Re: Thought Experiment : Optimizing Rail Line Throughput
Stackers are the easy solution. There are other options, involving not sending out trains when you don't need resources.
But if forces you to put the stacker at the end where it can back out onto your main rail line if it isn't big enough. That is the problem i'm trying to avoid Having a stacker ...

Thought Experiment : Optimizing Rail Line Throughput
This is more of a discussion at this point.
1. I have moved backed to belts for outposts. I know for larger designs this isn't the best for UPS but it has an advantage now with BP books that I can mine resources w/ much less power required. I used red belts on this play through. With full ...

Note sure if you are "anti beacon"..but a few well placed beacons can greatly reduce the total module count and power demands. Right now with your setup you are doing it absolutely the most power hungry way and the most module intensive way. For example replacing every other blue bottle assembler ...

they didn't. I placed them and they took off to "real roboport" and sat in their un-repaired.Ranakastrasz wrote:Repairs are only applied to things in the world.
Place them manually, it should result in them getting repaired

Sorry for the delay..but no. I haven't seen the issue repeat. Elusive it is. Next time I started it I made sure to finish it.Rseding91 wrote:Do you have a way to reproduce it getting reset? Because it should never get reset - all progress is saved between switching.

0.15.5 - Stopped But Already In Progress Research RESET
Was working on Kovarex research (~80% complete) when I switched off of it because I was running low on resources (gold bottles). Came back to it later and the progress reset. I did a search but did'nt find this in resolved bugs or known bugs. Not sure how to repeat this one.

Re: [0.15.*] Feedback topic
After playing a bit I'm currently thinking about buffing iron patches.
Once you start getting into new science packs iron usage goes insane.
Only thing I would mention is to favor ore density over patch size. Robports for logistics can only cover a 100x100 area in effect. If the patch gets bigger ...

Re: [0.15.*] Feedback topic
How does this compare with the new "train world" vanilla game setting?
First remember that the presets don't generate the game any differently that it did before....just sets the options. In that regards the 0.14 and 0.15 are "the same". Thus...RSO still does a much better job in patch generation ...

Re: [0.15.*] Feedback topic
Tweaked it a bit more. After a few more setting changes and a few different maps, I like this gen. Nothing feels excessive if you are looking at a 400+ map. Decent amount of water to keep it interesting but also a "desert" start to make tree clearing less annoying. Settings are based upon the 0.15 ...

Note: this is on context to the map string above
Tried the same string as above and the oil changes are definitely obvious but nothing obnoxious. Just note i have the oil settings set "really high" (very high, very big, very good). I found about 9 patches per 2k * 2k quadrant with the most outer ...

Re: [0.15.*] Feedback topic
Not sure if this is relevant or not...but I've never used RSO with "defaults" in game menu. I've always used them in some sort of variant. Part of the reason is I feel the default doesn't favor large trains.
But beyond that, i'm not sure. The railworld setting feels like what I would pick for a ...

Thanks Tex. That is what I did too. The oil does feel a "bit weak' with the RSO mod but the liquification might be a very solid substitute. All i know is that the radar doesn't show any resources within scan range (which I like). The oil setting in the default railworld is bonkers....you practically ...

Re: [0.15.*] Feedback topic
TexanMD,
How were you setting your "settings" in the menu while using RSO? Where you selecting railworld then launching RSO or just keeping defaults? All I know is I ran a bunch of non-modded railword settings and was not happy with the results (50 attempts, too much stuff still too close, oil was ...
