Red signal will completely block that path. A train cannot path through a red signal except under manual control or if it was already pathing through it when it turned red and it cannot stop in time. It wouldnt prevent the Pathfinder from considering it to be a valid path if the other lanes have more penalty on it due to red signal or waiting train blocking. To lock a track path for the pathfinder could also be useful to reserve tracks for player controlled train to keep a rail clear from automatic driving trains so that a player can drive in without the chance to crash into automatic trains. To lock a track path for the pathfinder could also be useful to reserve tracks for player controlled train to keep a rail clear from automatic driving trains so that a player can drive in without the chance to crash into automatic trains.

I wish it would simply save copper wire connections in blueprints. The auto connection always mess up my power switch built from blueprint. Possibly it is the increasing penalty from waiting trains causing this problem. I think it would solve the problem if the increasing penalty wasnt there and give a fix penalty to each waggon instead. Its because any waiting train penalty will overrule any placed red signal sooner or later due to inc...

it would help to simply have control over penalty values a regular signal could show The specific penalties can now be found in the utility constants, which allows mods to change them. (Undocumented) So this says, that it is possible to alter the penalties. Maybe you can mod values, that suit you? ...
