Re: Spidotron and Vehicle feature in general

The issue is that there's just not much need for additional vehicles in Factorio; what little need there is, is already VERY handsomely supplied by mods like AAI Vehicles. The car is fast, maneuverable, and gets you around; the tank is tough and can fight, but it's sluggish and slow; the Spidertron....

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)

Yes, I'd like to thank Wube for the Spidertron, but more specifically for keeping it a secret for so long. I know there were some very subtle hints dropped here and there in FFF (to the tune of maybe 1 per year on average), but I was 100% sure they'd forgotten it and dropped it to the wayside after ...

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback

Look if you hadn't cut out the part, right after, where I explicitly anticipated and acknowledged the point you are trying to needlessly raise then you wouldn't have much to say. :? ;) Not saying it is easy once you have gotten used to the old ways. You're quite mistaken. My point is not and has ne...

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)

I've been playing computer games since 1986, and in general am very picky about the computer games I spend my time on. I've long thought that no other development team in history, other than Wube, has made so many good decisions while also pulling off so many good implementations. Factorio is a giga...

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback

In terms of solutions, a toggle-able warning pop-up window is probably both the best and the easiest, because that doesn't require altering the new BP system in any way, other than adding a script and a few bytes of code and text for the pop-up window. I wouldn't propose an actual redesign, because ...

Re: Destroyers require a buff

Even long before the worm buff, combat robots had been perpetually lackluster and annoying to use. Since the advent of artillery and nukes, it's been crystal-clear to me that Wube should go back to the drawing board and totally rework combat robots. There are mods, but ideally the official mechanics...

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback

Just scroll wheel click to unlink from quickbar instead of explicitly deleting blueprints that you want to keep . Seriously. That is only a solution after a player is aware of how shortcuts and shortcut removal (via MMB) function and how they interact with BPs, the BPL, and deletion of BPs. To put ...

Re: Blueprint Library Feedback

Having x thousand hours just means you are used to how certain things work. How new players deal with this who never knew anything else may be completely different By the very same token, both developers and long-time players will find it nearly impossible to perceive the game from new players' per...

Re: Completely demolishing your factory because it doesn't seem to support everything you want.

Yes. Much like a crab, I eventually outgrow my shell and shed it for a new one. I always see this coming and prepare by increasing production of things I think I'll need to get the new one started, from concrete and walls to belts and assemblers. Once the new base is functional, I scuttle the old on...
