You need to understand that every client in Factorio runs EVERYTHING the server does.
I know, i was just trying to find a more streamline why of getting into my game than stopping the service, downloading the save file, opening it on my desktop, making a few changes, uploading to the server ...

You're probably overcomplicating things.
I do see were you are coming from, but you need to know the difference between my laptop, desktop and my goals, my laptop is a newish (I bought it last fall) MSI gaming laptop with octo core (even though I know that means nothing for Factorio) that is ...
