Tried this tonight and it seems like there are too many conflicts. Duplications all of the place, and when I try to clean water with the dytech mod, despite having power and dirty water, it shows me a red lightning bolt symbol.

I think it's reasonable, and background loading would be nice, but not at a potential 500% increase in save file size. If the current save is only 8MB, the new connecting player only needs replay data from the moment the save began sending in the background, not from 40 hours previous when the game ...

I'm not seeing replay.dat in new savegames now that I'm on 11.10 so it may be off by default now.

I even tried to load some of the replays in our old map, and every single one of them fails claiming "desynch at tick 93", so the replays aren't even useful for their intended purpose. It's not entirely clear why this feature is on by default.

A friend and I have been playing multiplayer for around 40~ hours total on the same map and the map sync time has become increasingly problematic.
