Re: Filesize limit in multiplayer?
the one who hosts the game should go into the save zip and remove "replay.dat", which removes the filesize by 40-60%, as it's just the replay file, used if you want to watch a replay of what you did on your run, which i doubt many people have used so far.

Doesn't this rely on the cpu you use? So, isn't this a non-issue for haswell + ?

Re: Friday Facts #108 - Unexpected Features
One thing that came to mind after seeing the "Blueprint Book" was, if you could implement a "Repair Bag" or something alike, where all items go to that you pick up and are damaged, since those cannot (atm) be stacked in an inventory and it is a bit frustrating that "damaged" entities can easily take ...

Re: What are your Factorio quirks?
I always build a spinning circle, consisting of 4 belts (in a circle). It's fun when you are stuck crafting and just go onto it, and later on place like 3 burner mining drills on it

Re: [MOD 0.11.x - 0.12.x] Marathon
Does RSO work with Bobs Mod and/or Dytech?
If not, any plans to add support for those mods?
It works with both. New metallurgy 2.0 from DyTech is not yet supported - will be added when it's a bit more mature.
PS.
I'd recommend RSO threads for that kind of questions :)
Sry, i used the wrong ...

Re: [Public/Europe] Dedicated Server [0.12.5/Bob's mods]
I think we might wanna update the original post to include that you can't see loading bars when others join, and that it looks like a freeze which it isn't.
People just keep leaving while others load, just tot hen rejoin.

Re: [Public/Europe] Dedicated Server [0.12.5/Bob's mods]
You might find out that bob's mods without smart inserters might be a tad annoying with ore sorting :D
the problem is not smart inserts, but when you change something for ciruit or logistic network it'll corrupt (apparently) , already fixed for 12.6, still, i crashed the map twice now, in total ...

I tried to set the circuit network up for the transport belts, and crashed/dc'd like 3 times (every time when i set up the amount to be checked) and now i can't connect anymore, whenever i connect, it downloads the map just fine but the pops "Unkonw Key:"multiplayer.cannot-load-downloaded-map ...

Re: New to factorio, how should i start
bobs mods... if you've installed EVERYTHING from bobs mods, then your chains will be huge.
I'd strongly advice to first play a normal game or 2, maybe with a goal on "design"in the 2nd one or so (read : mainline (google it if u wanna know more)).

I don't think it's related, but when playing with my friend(direct connect via IP) we had more lag/stutter when my routerfirewall was on and way less when it was off.

why do we need Service Pack 1 on win7 all of a sudden? I've not seen any game, even big AAA games, to require the SP1 on win7?

Re: Friday Facts #68 The trains
Hm. I dunno.
And I think that is not that important, as in OpenTTD a, cause in Factorio we have much more space. That was always the biggest retention for me with OpenTTD (and other similar games): the sizes of the rails etc. weren't nearly halfway realistic. There is an obvious discrepancy ...
