Re: So... Let's talk about bots, and how to fix them properly...
I say don't overcomplicate the problem. Simply put, to power bots with solar panels should use a significant fraction of the footprint of the bot network. It doesn't even have to be more than 50%. Between 10% and 25% might be best. Then, it becomes a space trade-off, limiting expansion in a way ...

The root of the problem is that solar is OP. :)
Correct, when you have infinite energy, you can have infinite bots.
A good fix could be the degradation of solar energy due to global pollution, or the pollution cloud produced by the factory (maybe in this case a bigger pollution cloud (e.g ...

Circuit network connection for assembling machines and read needed materials
TL;DR
Enable assembling machines to be connected to circuit network, in order to read the needed materials.
What ?
Enable the possibility of connect the assembling machine to circuit network, in order to be able to read the material needed from the recipe. (not the missing materials, just the ...

Re: Drones Hitbox and CargoTime
Understood. And what about load/unload time?bobucles wrote: Tue Apr 16, 2019 11:25 am This discussion has been done before.
What will ACTUALLY happen is UPS gets destroyed. Ten thousand collision checks per tick will do that.

Drones Hitbox and CargoTime
TL;DR
Giving a hitbox to robots (bots will not move through themselves) and a load/unload time will increase the challenge of the game and make the robot logistic system less OP. (better think twice where change from belts to bots)
What ?
HITBOX: the drones will not just move to chest, load ...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
Add physical space to bots. Right now they can stay in the same place at the same time, what if they have to stop and dont run into each others? What about loading/unloading time? (inserters need time to put/pull material in chests) It is a realisitc nerf, the problem is solved.
