Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts

If power requirements and stack sizes only lead to more robots, how about limiting max robot count in the network instead? You could also research to increase the limit (perhaps also infinite research). Then you would need to create smaller networks with specific tasks and find ways to supply the va...

Re: Friday Facts #222 - Christmas avalanche

As well as an item to tell requester chests whether to pull from buffer chests, it would be symmetrical to also allow inserter network conditions to have an option to consider amounts in buffer chests or not: right now material in a buffer chest counts towards conditions, but if the requester chest...

2 000 is the maximum that can be stored in the rocket silo - you shouldn't launch the rocket before removing the science.

Re: Version 0.13.3

The other way around is much more useful. For example, with the box checked base construction bots can take stuff out of my inventory to place it, if it was not found in any other chest. Quite often my bots are completely useless because the thing that needs to be placed or replaced is so rare that...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

It will turn into: - you use burner inserter where you have no power - you use long inserters for reach (but you will still avoid situations where you need them) - you will use rapid inserter everywhere else because other inserters are such inferior that are not worth using. Actually, with the rapi...

Re: Friday Facts #137 - The release scarecrow

Please don't nerf the existing inserters. Because you will end up using only the rapid inserters in the end, making the fast inserters a mere intermediate product. Removing the stack bonus entirely for the other inserters seems like too much of a downgrade, I think. I have a suggestion for your wai...

Re: Friday Facts #114 - Better train conditions

This wouldn't work for when you want one central refueling station for all trains. You would either activate it and all trains come for refuel, or deactivate it and nobody gets any fuel. You can't just have a train go there for fuel when it needs it. The condition could have a locomotive-inventory/...

[...] Deactivatable stations - the station could be deactivated based on circuit condition. For the train it would be like it doesn't exist. I like this one, as it is very simple, the train will just have all of the supply stations in queue, (+ the home one). When all of them are deactivated, it do...

Is it only me or did they really remove the headless server options in 0.12.2? Did you try the command? The changelog mentioned allowing dots in the file paths for it now, so it's highly unlikely they removed it. Perhaps they just didn't add it to the help switch output? On another note, is that so...

Re: Friday Facts #86 - Trees

I don't like the idea of adding new things (ores, ...) for everything. It can be simplified if that means not having to deal with over 40 kinds or ores. That's one thing I don't like about minecraft mod packs. Exactly, adding lot of different ores with specific usage is something I also don't like....

In my "To Do" section of the main post I had said: Attempt to allow manual fire control. My original idea had this be the ONLY way to fire it. Where you would get into the turret and have a free cursor to move around to select the target location, but ghost mode reveals the map. Until I c...

Re: [MOD 0.11.x] Artillery Cannon - v1.0.1

The artillery looks nice, but I wouldn't want automatically firing artillery. I'd definitely try your mod if they would only fire on map click, coordinates fed via a GUI, or click in the game world with a remote. It might be especially interesting if you had to choose the amount of propellant, eleva...
