Re: Allow pause while "catching up" / Server setting - auto pause on join

another thing that i was thinking about was that you could just make it so that when you were connecting, if you pushed escape to bring up the menu, that you would be able to pause the server if you had the permissions to do so. that way i could pause my own server because i have admin rights on it....

Re: Allow pause while "catching up" / Server setting - auto pause on join

hmm i suppose i wasnt thinking of the griefing issues that might happen on a public server since i only play on a private server with people i know (who are always promoted to admin). either way, i like the idea of having a few different settings similar to those that have been suggested here: "...

Re: Allow pause while "catching up" / Server setting - auto pause on join

The problem with manual pausing is on a dedicated server for the first person to join. I forsee the setting being set up as follows. Auto pause on join: first only, always, never Once a person joins, they can always pause it for the next people if needed. You just can't pause the dedicated servers u...

Re: Command line - mod update

so ive been trying to get that script / program to work and im having a ton of trouble with it since it uses python3 and my ec2 server is using 2.7. long story short, it would be a lot nicer if i could just run a command line script to have factorio do the update checking itself =/

Server setting - auto pause on join

Hello,

I would love to have a server setting that would force the server to auto-pause on anyone joining. It would make things a lot easier when joining a large map from an older computer or weaker connection.

TL;DR
in server-settings.json, "server_auto_pause_on_join" (yes, no)

Command line - mod update

Hello, First of all, I have to say that I absolutely love this game. I have been playing lately with my brother on a dedicated server I set up on amazon ec2 with a large selection of mods. The only issue I am running into is that I would love to be able to update the mods via a command like you can ...

Re: [0.14.9] Allow pause while "catching up"

i completely agree. on older systems, even with a decent internet connection, as the factory gets larger it becomes more necessary to pause when entering the game. it would be nice if there was a setting to allow for the game to auto-pause on a player joining the server

Re: Factorio Update Helper (an aid for headless server owners)

first of all, i love your script. it makes things so much easier for me using an amazon ec2 server. i was wondering if there was any way to have factorio search for the updated mods via the command line and if you could implement that into your script. ingame, you can go into the mods tab and then c...

Re: Version 0.14.17

Whoever has time please test the map downloader and let us know if it's faster and more stable compared to previous versions, especially people who had problems downloading maps. i have a modded factorio server on an amazon ec2 server and since the update, it takes less time to "ramp up" ...

Re: [linux] Dedicated server init script

i think i have it working with crontab, which i just figured out. we will see if it works. side note, i was running out of ram on my ec2 instance and i am not sure if that was causing the desync issues, but we will see if it gets fixed

Re: [linux] Dedicated server init script

is there any way to make the script auto restart the server after X period of time? I am having desync issues with my server on an ec2 server running with a lot of mods. the only way that it seems to fix the problem is to just issue the "service factorio restart" command every ~12 hours or...

[0.11.7] Crash on loading savegame

Hello, I have been playing a multiplayer game with my brother and went to load the game this morning only to have factorio crash completely. I am attaching the save file and a copy of the log file. We are not using any mods and I saved the game manually while playing last night. I am using win 7 x64...
