Re: We support Ukraine
Day 49 of my 3 day war. I lost the crown jewel of my fleet in a navel engagement with a country without a navy.
I am a master strategist.
After a firefighting exercise, the Moskva has been promoted to submarine and assigned to carry out a special underwater operation. This was the plan all ...

Re: We support Ukraine
In 2012, the European Union and Ukraine signed an association agreement which was a first step towards membership.

Re: We support Ukraine
IMHO the justification of preventing Ukraine from joining NATO is just a cover story Putin is selling to Russian armed forces to mask his real priority to prevent an orange revolution in Russia so that democracy is not established and he is not held to account for his many crimes of theft and ...

Re: We support Ukraine
I am under the impression that Russia is not winning the war too. But a regime change that is full of revenge made only of the most bellicist factions after the moderate fled or were considered traitor is a lot of uncertainty for the future.
The regime change that I think could happen is that ...

Re: We support Ukraine
Russia seems to be losing the war. At least that is the impression and I hope it's true. The next thing to hope for after victory for Ukraine is regime change in Russia.

Re: 3 and 4 way intersections
If you have a certain amount of trains and in a certainsection of the network a small intersection is no longer sufficient, is it better to replace small intersections with big ones, or to decentralize traffic by adding alternative routes and avoiding base designs with chokepoints that need huge ...

I'm beginning to understand that a significant portion of people living under despotic regimes do not understand the degree to which they have been influenced by constant propaganda.

Re: 3 and 4 way intersections
I suspect that these tests may not be measuring what you think they are measuring.
Much of the performance of an intersection may be simply due to its size, rather than due to good design.
The smaller intersections also tend to be used with a denser grid of city blocks which is better at ...

A wrapper for circuit combinators
TL;DR
A box that you place on the ground which can contain other circuit combinators and allows you to hide the complexity of the design and better document how it works and should be used.
What ?
It's circuit combinator that when placed in the world looks like a 2x2 box with 2 green and 2 red ...

A lane splitter for controlling transport belt lanes
TL;DR

What ?
Add a lane splitter building 1x2 tiles in size. It's a specialized section of transport belt (like underground belt and splitter). It attempts to redistribute items between the ...

Re: Friday Facts #367 - Expansion news
Does the expansion add content after the rocket launch, or before? Or does it add an entirely different scenario than "launch a rocket", like build an underwater base? The jellyfish-like creature looks like something living in the water.

The first Nichrome recipe is an outlier in terms of efficiency
I want to produce 25 complex circuits per minute. In terms of tech progression, I'm at green science. I've noticed that to meet the demand for chromium, I would have to mine and process a LOT more chromium ore than for any of the other metals.
To illustrate this: just to meet the 338 chromium ...

Re: Power options at green science
I use the hydrogen and biomass from phytoplankton into combustion mixture recipe. I explored other options and only a few were good, but none as good as this recipe. The free oxygen and excess hydrogen are nice, it uses relatively few buildings and needs no outside inputs.

Re: Anyone else playing with biters?
I don't remember exactly but I believe I set the biter evolution to about 2/3 of the default values. The bugs were challenging but managable until the aforementioned point when the usual turret drop strategy stopped working for larger bug bases. If it wasn't for the defender bot drive-by tactic ...

I disabled biter expansion and toned their evolution a bit down. The biters are still a problem
