same problem here while loading up to 2% and then creating crashdumps on a x86_64 ubuntu 16.04.03 /w an nvidia card (proprietary driver).

in addition to this i fetched a fresh 0.16.0 version and it turned out to be a copy of 14.22.0 -.- -> https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=54538 ...

fresh 0.16.0-copy starts on linux, but once started it turns out this seems to be a copy of 0.14.22
