Factorio auto-update script

I have written a script to trigger an auto update on linux, if you are interested. You might need to adjust paths and stuff to fit your needs. To trigger the script, send SIGUSR1 to the bash that executes the script and it will check for updates (currently in the experimental branch), download, extr...

Question for WUBE: Is it okay to poll your website?

Hi,

is it okay for you if a script of mine will automatically check every 5 minutes for a new factorio update to trigger an auto updater script?

Thanks for your work, I love your game :).

Best

Give console output when a player connects with the wrong version

Hello, as a Linux user I am disgusted by doing the same task more than twice. If I need to do that, Ill write a script. Right now, everytime factorio is updated (and we play experimental, so it happens from time to time) I needed to connect to the server, stop it, update, etc. I have written a scrip...

Version informations for Update automation

Hi Factorio Team ;). I am having some suggestions. I administrate a Linux Server for Factorio and would like to fully automate the updating process. Therefore I would need two things: 1. A reliable source in the current installation which version it is (Currently I do cat changelog.txt | grep "...

[0.16.9] [linux] immediate crash when joining server

When connecting to my server, it will download the map and then one of the following things happen: 1. It does not come up with the "catching up dialog", displaying the first frame of the map, freezes there and tells me I am in desync and drops my connection 2. The client crashes with this...

Save password field when joining a server

I have a private factorio server for me and some friends. What bugs me a bit is that we all have to enter the password every time. I would suggest adding a "Save password" checkbox underneath the password field.

[0.16.7] Achievements over and over again

When playing on my Multiplayer server, everytime you close down Factorio, then start it again (needs to be restarted for the bug to trigger!) and then joining the server will give me every time all achievements already achieved on this map, which results in a screen full of achievements. I was only ...

[0.16.4] Zooming in black map areas reveals the area

When zooming deep enough in not yet scanned black areas in the map overview you can see the land. This works only on blacked out map segments.

This is confirmed to work an Linux as well as windows.

Re: [0.16.0] Factorio does not start on Debian Stretch (hangs)

Nevermind, this is solved here: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=54540&start=40

Basically it is a bug in the devs buildsystem and it will be fixed in 0.16.1 :).

Keep up the great work

[0.16.0] Factorio does not start on Debian Stretch (hangs)

Hi, i play Factorio on my Debian Stretch machine and everything so far ran perfectly (0.15.x). I updated right now to 0.16.0, both on Steam and by downloading it from the Factorio page. The game starts up and stops working on the loadscreen at 2% (loading core...). It hangs completly, when dragging ...
