I did consider the possibility of doing this, but it seemed like an exercise in futility compared to the point of the game. I suppose it is a balance of what is complexity for complexity's sake and what is complexity for the challenge of the game.

I fat fingered some hot key and brought up the sprite atlas. It has no quit button and escape doesn't work, so I have open up settings and find the hotkey for it to turn it off. This needs some polishing I think.

I moved Factorio to my SSD from the HDD. All times improved by 25%, but still a very long time to launch after reboot.
