If you want to get technical, "throughput" is the amount of items passing through the belt per unit time. . Exactly what I said. This entire argument is moot in a compressed belt with Adequate supply that will never fall behind. Hence the On Demand conversation. And since items on the out...

I could never find the perfect Blue Belt/Elsectric Furnace ratio, so I tested it. It requires 61 Electric/Steal Furnaces (or 122 Stone Furnaces), to completly smelt all the ore on a completly saturated blue belt. To add to the variables. If you use blue belt the route with turns in it finishes first... Red/Yellow belt and this item spacing has the inserter on the turn route idle during the offset item portion, so it delays the finish. With blue even through the offset an item arrives in time for inserter two...

There is still an inserter facing north in that test, so the inserter loading the inside lane will fall behind all on it's own -- indeed you show it having two items on the belt at the end, when there should only be one. Try your test length/size with all straight track one east/west one north/sout...

Don't inserters facing north run slower than other directions? I think that is what you are seeing as it looks the last single items arrives the same time as the straight set but an inserter is not available to pick it up. Your photo clearly shows one additional tile that must clear to complete the delivery. What if it is 2 items from the inner lane first, and 48 even and 2 items on the outerlane to finish at the same time as straight? 2+48+2 = 52 ticks. You are costing the delivery with every turn. Won't they all drive full throughput if you plug at least one belt into each input splitter? So instead of input on lane 1-4, do 1, 3, 5 , 7?

Not sure this requires new designs... Just knowledge that each splitter on the input side in a balancer should get input.

againey thank you for the nice sum up. Graphically I agree it poses a challenge. The reality is the real world you would have a corner more like train tracks in Factorio (Sweeping) and not a 90% belt but nobody here wants that. I feel there should be no difference between the throughput of a curved...

I suspect if uTorrent was setting your port forwarding for you using uPnP then it probably was doing it just for TCP port, which may work for the other games you listed, but factorio uses UDP ports.
