Ontop of that it would be great to be able to disable the "no item" beeping when constructing things in the sound settings, yellow signs is nice to know at a glance, but the beeping is something that drives you up the wall when it's nonstop lol

Interesting post as it never occured to me to that some game crashes might be on purpose to get a specific problem reported back if it would ever fail :)

Filter inserters when wired can have their signal set to "set filter" to only move things you tell it to, which this does ;)
With my new game I've got it working very nicely with filter inserters.
What I was after though was to get it to work with Loaders, not inserters. Doesn't seem to be ...

There is an LTN signal at the station, LTN stations have 3 connection points:
Station itself - like normal read contents, send signals
Station INPUT and station OUTPUT
What the bp does is read the station OUTPUT which has the request amount, then from the station itself for the train contents and ...

Need to tell it to stop loading when it reaches the delivery request.
Here is a 2 wagon loading station using the LTN request signal and train content signal and an offloading stations to complete it :)

Yeah, that's part of the problem for sure. But I use LTN very early. I only have blue inserters. Also, because of the difficulties I challenge myself with, my power wanes at night time, causing slower inserter behavior. The net of it is that I cannot accurately predict when a train will leave, so ...

Also if you have trains going back to the depot with left over items in their cargo, it's an indication you are requesting too many with the request threshold or the station needs a redesign to be able to offload faster or a second station.

Unavoidable using combinators as you need to reduce the LTN generated request order with the train cargo being loaded and then send the inserter filter signal for them to stop when cargo reaches the request quantity.

Double inline LTN modular request station, great for placing between factories when splitting everything up and going big :mrgreen:

As it's pretty much quiet with designs...
Playing on and off so made a little smelting block while slowly advancing towards building my train network.

True, Big Bags makes it easier, but you already end up running around in circles moving stuff manually.
I like hardmode as it requires alot of extra materials, just not for the manual crafting and limited stacks while learning Factorio all over again.

Using Big Bags that tenfold stacks so cargo capacity isn't really an issue, but... :)

Why segregate into sub networks?
I use only 2 types of trains.
L6CL (nuclear from more locomotives ) mass freight to dedicated requester
L2CL as supply for small amounts like repair packs, ammo, air filters, some iron to the refinery for making sulfuric acid

It's nice to hear I succeeded in making/keeping LTN accessible. :D

The only thing that had me going was setting up depots with the train length signals, the trains didn't give a hoot and parked where ever was an available spot to mess ...

Thanks for the heads up regarding their high resource consuption, I never knew that.
Also using Bob's inserters, that mod is just awesome and if anything, all the inserter options should be made stock, especially the offset :D
Running a 4.7ghz so I'll be safe for a little while to do some stack ...

It's a week late, but had the same issue while trying to figure out how LTN works.
This isn't with inserters but with the fast loaders as I decided to have my ore issues fixed first and as who uses them knows, you can't hook them up to wires so decided to do it like this.
