Re: Friday Facts #326 - Particle emitter & Data cache

The effect of the particles hitting the water is a tad overdone, but this was a nice FF.

Re: Friday Facts #325 - New Explosions and Particles

The particle FX on the Roboport ain't looking so hot. It doesn't make sense for the "shot spark" to pop up randomly within an area. A random shot spark should happen relative to the position of the last shot, within a circle. Either do that, or make the whole area circular and smaller. The biter, wa...

I myself like the old look more. A config would be sweet.
Yeah, option for color correction modes would be cool) Like old one, new one, potentially more? XD
It would be awesome. But it would be an entirely new feature. They used scripts to color correct the sprites - it's not done on-the-go.

Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction

I'm loving the new colors. Especially the night ones.
We’ve used scripts to apply LUTs to most of the images, and one such script is ready for mod authors to clone or download here
Pretty awesome of you guys to disponibilize that.

As a relatively inexperienced Factorio player, the tooltips will significantly make gameplay better in terms of understanding entities.

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable

And same as with previous point, getting there requires more effort, so the value of doing the dungeon is higher. No, clicking around from point A to point B is the least challenging thing in an MMO. That is BORING. And that says a lot when the whole genre is designed around cheaply psychologically...

Re: Friday Facts #312 - Fluid mixing saga & Landfill terrain

I like how this landfill looks but the fact it's grid-based makes me wish it's an alternative landfill instead of a replacement. It's an in-between for those that don't wanna go full industrial and still keep some nature in their factory. I'd rather it be a separate version of landfill instead of re...

Re: Friday Facts #311 - New remnants 3

On top of that, we plan to utilize the remnants to a large degree in the campaign for 1.0 for half-destroyed factories to be found and explored. What are the implications of that? Other factorieers also crashed down in the planet and weren't successful? I'm not sure how I feel about that. I liked t...

What does "leveling his priest" mean?
He's got a character that's of the Priest class and he's leveling it up (level 1, level 2...) by getting experience points.

I didn't even know Factorio had pipes that weren't the big, hunking fluid pipes, but that looks awesome.

Re: Friday Facts #309 - Controversial opinions

It's hard to remove such a powerful tool now, since it's oh-so-tempting to import that nice blueprint book with belt balancers, so you don't have to deal with designing those complex things yourself. Until a different consensus is reached, the tool will stay in game. But I urge players to restrain ...

Re: Friday Facts #305 - The Oil Changes

I'm a fan of the changes, not as worried as I was last time (by proxy because of what people were saying). I'm also excited to see what mods do with the new GUI thingamabob. Note that I'm not a veteran player. I want you guys to sit on the changes more before deciding for sure where to go, there are...

Re: Friday Facts #300 - Special edition

Every time I play other games and experience the inevitable performance problems they have my mind goes over just what they might have done wrong, or what the language they're using is doing wrong that's causing the performance problems. That's partially why I love the Factorio team. I had assumed ...
