Re: Friday Facts #80 - Crazy start
Another idea: when the rocket animation is going, freeze the player. He watches. With a bit of screen shake it could end up nice. I was going to suggest something similar. Maybe pause the game, center the screen on the rocket launch, lock the screen, add the screen shake for effect, and just have i...

Re: Friday Facts #74 - The brainstorming
As you aren't going to sit in orbit during the Mission, the day/night solar discussion is irrelevant. More importantly, while the solar panels would be much more efficient in orbit, due to refraction of the atmosphere, as you get further from the star, heading out on the mission, you would get dimin...

Re: Failure to Save game
I was planning to do that. Hopefully it gets cleared up before 0.12 comes out. I guess I can go replace all my inserters with standard ones, and see if I can safely remove DyTech.

Failure to Save game
So i updated from 0.11.13 to 0.11.15 and now I get an error when trying to save my game. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a problem with a mod. I'm using several mods, but DyTech Inserters is the only one that modifies Inserters that I have running, and the error only names default inserters. I supp...

Re: Friday Facts #71 To the stars
I would personally like an end game that makes me want to keep building larger and larger. Maybe the space port is just a way to ship back huge expensive items to the home world. So your score is how much you can export per minute. I could go for that. I've preferred continuing the game past the cu...

Re: Friday Facts #71 To the stars
I don't know where all the negative feedback about the idea of building a ship and taking it to sell goods was, but I think it would be great. Just like in your factory, you should have to include enough supplies to make the trip, including setting up a shipboard factory to run major systems like en...

Re: Friday Facts #70 The smooth fps
Keep up the good work. I've been ever expanding my first complete factory for the eventual update to the end game. Primary because it is more fun than the extremely early game to me! Anyway, I'm approaching 1 million stockpiled Iron Ore, and my railroads keep bringing more every few seconds. Copper ...

Are you still having problems? I'm running OS 10.10.1 and Factorio 0.11.13 with no problems.

Re: Automatic mining bases expansion (or eliminating the nee
That's not very realistic however, as the current third rail power systems probably wouldn't be able to handle transmitting power over them for purposes other than running trains. Realistic as in real life, or works in the game? This is a game, so realism isn't high up there. Stranded alone with no...

Re: Version 0.11.10
I'm now getting an Error during startup. Seems there is now a compatibility issue with DyTech Inserters. "inserter-close has wrong insert vector as it isn't in safe distance from the tile edge" That seems something DyTech will need to look at, but I just wanted to report it before others r...

Re: Completing Rocket Defense in X games?
Just completed my first game. Ended up breaking parts of my factory just to force parts to the final assemblers. In the future, I'll start making the chips at a steady pace much earlier in the game. Disappointed that the Rocket Defense was just a empty block, that I didn't have a massive attack to h...

Re: Zisteau has picked up factorio
DISCLAIMER: Zisteau fanboy here. for example the way he cleared out a colony of bugs in episode 7 that would have made me crap my pants and start a new map. Since I rushed Laser Turrets to avoid having to automate ammo production and distribution, I've been yelling at my screen every time Zisteau a...

Re: Zisteau has picked up factorio
Yosemite is listed on the known issues page. According to that post, they don't yet have a machine running Yosemite to let them work on addressing the problem. I'll just continue lurking and watching others play until then. I found the tutorial interesting, but I always prefer sandbox mode for creat...

Re: Zisteau has picked up factorio
I'm here thanks to Zisteau. I haven't purchased yet because I had to create a partition and reinstall Mavericks just to try the demo. That isn't a long term solution for me, so as soon as this works on Yosemite I'll be buying!
