When I try starting Factorio through Steam, it get stuck at 89%

It get stuck at or after: 38.834 Convert atlas 4096x1568 to: mipmap

I was able to start the game by downloading an earlier version (0.15.37), but it seems it is having the same issue

System:
Mac OS X - 10.12.6
MacBook Pro - 15inch ...
