Re: Stack assembly machines

The thing is, the only reason to do this would be to help UPS. It would be tedious to replace all your assembly machines (I don't think it's viable for early game), and the only people who are having UPS problems are those who build megabases (and more optimizations are coming in 0.16, so even less ...

Re: Replay Formatting for Replay Analysis Tool

I have no experience in this, however a good way to start would be to do something along these lines: 1. Start a game, do nothing, close it, look at replay, see if there is anything, try to decode it. 2. Only craft one pickaxe, decode. 3. Only craft one transport belt, decode. 4. Move one direction,...

Are you on the same version? If not, I would think there would be a warning message. If so, I really have no idea.

Re: Underground belt/pipes that are scaled with length

I have nothing against your idea, however I think the problem is that it could be difficult for new players to understand and it could be a bit overpowered. You also seem to be trying to add some parts of 3 different mods into vanilla. I'm not against adding mods to the base game (fluid tanker was a...

Re: Friday Facts #200 - Plans for 0.16

Also, on the worldgen topic, the vast majority of land seems to be the regular grassy area, followed by sand and then a very, very small amount of the pink area. I would like it if there was actually a significant amount of the pink area. Anyway, I would love it if you could keep the Friday facts co...

Additionally, turning water into land would have a whole heap of problems in breaking automation, and this is a game about automation.

Re: Walls have 1/3 health of laser turrets

I get that not everything should have them shown, but shouldn't it be fairly simple to, when the option is turned on, have a loop check all entities to see if they have resistances, and if so, show them? If they don't want mod support, they could even use a predetermined list from vanilla.

Re: My guide to "There is no spoon" (15.X version)

I'm not sure if I'll use this on my first try for there is no spoon or if I'll want to try it without first. After all, if I fail, it's only... more than 8 hours :). I'll keep it in mind. Good job!

Re: Late late game biter clearing

... My goal is to get to the edge of the map (or crash my computer) without using mods/commands on rail world default settings so mods are off the table ... Do you realize how huge of a task that is? I did some research and the Factorio world extends 1 million tiles in each direction , or 7 hours b...

Good point... might look a little... edgy.

I'd like to add a pun, but I think mine are on the shoreline of being dank.

Re: Infinity water

I too think water, being the most essential fluid in life and industry needs some care. - Inverse landfill, i.e., a technology for creating water titles. (Sand should be an floor option too) - New kind of aliens that can fly or cross water. - Boats, ships, oil extraction at water, hovercraft... Wit...

I haven't tried it myself, but if I ever get into mods I will. The idea of launching rockets actually doing something other than incrementing a little counter is nice.

I did my first factory without bots too, my major problem right now (personally, I'm not the author of the thread or maybe even the majority) is the tech difference between storage & passive provider and active provider & requester chests.

They should add it to the F4 menu, something like show_all_resistances - if they added it for a mod, it should be really easy to add that way, right?

Unfortunately, all your equipment was lost during the explosion, so your bots bring you a pile of rubble. I request 1000 iron ore, 200 copper ore, and 100 stone.

Re: Late late game biter clearing

I'm not sure. My 0.14 base isn't up to nukes yet and neither is my 0.15 base. I'd assume that'd be a pretty good setup, although a car might be even faster (not sure with that many exos, a tank probably wouldn't). I'm excited for the artillery train (if that's still happening), although that probabl...

Yes, if they make another trailer I assume they'll want to make it entirely HD.
