Re: Factorio flaws
First of all, I said in the first reply in this thread that I (almost) fully agree to Hedning1390's statements. I also would like to point out that Factorio is an awesome game that gave me many, many hours of joyfull play. Thanks for that. 2. No, the game doesn't pit efficiency against creativity. ...

to me it seems the devs have just too much fun developing this game ... i would wish this never ends
compared to too many games that were released as early access games i am so impressed by what factorio is .. 2200+ hours of fun , frustration , excitement and fun fun fun

but no DX10 support means no Vista support too. XP support went together with 32bit support. As far as I know DX11 is available also for Vista. But I wouldn't mind dropping Vista altogether :) and then someone will come to the forum telling all of us how he/she dropped Vista because Factorio wasn't...

Out of curiosity, why not nuclear? When someone says "100GW", they have no intention of seeing UPS ever again. Even a 10GW base is very intense for an average computer. At this point players aren't playing the Factorio that you or I know anymore. They're instead playing a vicious CPU effi...

Re: Mining Outpost, how do you make them?
In my last game, the first one where I seriously got into trains, I made a set of blueprints with two rails and large electric poles in between them. So that way I can do the rails and more or less power takes care of itself. Plus high power lines along railroad tracks are a common sight IRL, so it...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
I'd like to take another look at the question of why bots really need to be nerfed. People have made different experiments on how bots compare to belts with regard to throughput, and in some experiments bots hold up equally well or better than belts, see the subreddit, specifically see this , this ...

Factorio is not a competetive game. It is a sanbox game. It is fine stuff is not well balanced. LOL! I'm saw that opinion a few times in this thread. It is basically like writing "Factorio is a sandbox game so is it fine if it sucks." - just a few levels down. No, the game should be well-...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
The filter-splitter buff is amazing and I love it. Can't wait to see it in the next update! This opens up many new ways to use belts not just within factories, but on mixed mining fields too. Love the changes to splitters especially the priority functions. TBH I'd rather have a filter on electric m...

because of the last 2 fff and the reply i wrote i thought it might be a good idea to post it here too . i am playing with this idea around for a couple of months so the FFF just made me bring it to paper. Perhaps its a good idea , maybe its possible to just turn this into a mod ? ( would be nice to ...

Re: Belts vs Bots - A response to the latest FFF
Since Factorio is predominately a creative & problem solving game, it comes down to player preference. Right, but I disagree that balance is a small consideration in Factorio just because there's no competition, when there's a mechanic that is a one-size-fits-all solution and is simple to use i...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
Stack inserters are imbalanced! Have you ever seen a real factory using mass inserters? Nor have I. Keep the inserters fast, but they should all pick up only one item, not 7 or 3! this is not true. factories have sooo many more different robotic arms / cranes etc for single or bultiple item grabbin...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
Last chance to post before the next FFF. Last chance to make the point. Nerfing the bots, though in an ideal world would have been done from the start, cannot be practically done now. Except perhaps my suggestion to give logi-bots a schedule like trains have. But that would probably cause more hass...

snip Or maybe an end-game mutual exclusive tech option is a bad choice, like i said, i opted this only for discussion :) i don't like the idea of irreversible choice, especially in a game like factorio... we, my gf and i , usually play with ridicoulous tech multiplier ( current map is 1000x expensi...

after reading many posts , here are my 2 cents. first i wanna say , we use belts , bots, trains , teleport mod , yuoki assembly machines , belt furnaces and all ( belt furnaces and yuoki machines mainly for fps/ups) my GF and i are currently playing a deathworld with 1000x expensive technology cost....

Interesting. :? How can users know, which setting i have chosen ? Who said, that i played on easy ? I not! But the combat is a part of the game. If it is not, why is it into the game ? I hate these discussions. I make some suggestions and the users tell me, that is not a combat or fighting game. Oh...

yep ... thought so ... just to remind you : factorio =/= DOTA2 . so according to your logic , the only game thats "right" is dota 2. as i mentioned earlier : factorio just is not a game for you. theres nothing wrong with the game . the mistake lies in the choice you made. oh and btw : in m...
