+1 on this. The fog-of-war workaround sounds fair, I don't love it, but it's better than current behaviour. Maybe consider adding an interface option for people who prefer taking the performance hit?

I remember that it was possible to do that by deleting a file named achievements in %appdata%, but it's not there anymore. I'm not sure what to do instead.

The game itself wasn't unplayable because my keyboard shortcuts filled in for the missing buttons, but the world gen customization screen definitely had unusable parts.
