Belts behave differently depending on if they run in the same direction as the update direction or not. I did not understand this, but it led me to observe that perhaps the reason the top is not compressing is because the plates on the short belt adjacent to the inserter still have to travel the wi...

[15.9] Asymmetric Belt Compression

I created the following:

It perfectly compresses the bottom line, but it does not do the same to the top one.

I expected both lines to behave equally, regardless of what that may be.

You would have to disallow placing underground exits and entrances too close to each other. Otherwise, I could create a train that runs without fuel by exploiting this.

I support this.

Edit: Instead of freezing items, remove them from the player's inventory while not allowing them to pick more items beyond their carrying capacity.
