devs have seriously considered this: https://forums.factorio.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6 I see. It seems like I must work on my searching skills. I am going to read that. It looks like it was burried under a ton of other similiar stuff. I wonder what is the current stand of the developers on this...

I like the change to underground belts but I think this could be done better. IMHO all kinds of u-belts should have the same maximum length but there could be a research that would increase that maximum length for all kinds of belts.
