Re: Aquilo - Ammoniacal Solution bottleneck

Ahhh! Thanks Daid, You mentioning power has made me realise where I am going wrong,
I am using the old school nuclear power (Fission) on Aquilo, shipping in the fuel - but of course this is using water/steam, all coming from the ice.
If I switched to the new fusion power, now that i've unlocked it ...

Aquilo - Ammoniacal Solution bottleneck

Hi team,
I've been on Aquilo for quite awhile, and unlocked all research, and just finishing up my next ship with railguns, and about to push for the next step "Outer System".

But, i do find I am constantly getting a bottle-neck on Aquilo, which i'd like to solve before I move forward, but also ...

Re: Train functionality changed, looking for solution

Having the same problem.

I read the FFF and i understand why they removed the skipping (trains stuck on the rails with no path) but just sleeping at a station until the next stations opens up, is even worse?

Say i have 4 schedules for a train:

1 pick up blue science
2 pick up red science
3 pick ...

Agreed. No doubt there was some logical reason why - hopefully they'll share it and give us an insight.

Re: Train functionality changed, looking for solution

Thanks mrvn, that works well. :D

If anyone else is looking for a similar approach, here is how I have it working:

Initially I had the train just going to "home" to refill, as the only station, and then had each serviceable "repair" station as an interrupt.
However this meant if you had a large ...

Train functionality changed, looking for solution

I used to have my entire base perimeter dotted with train stations called "Repair". They would become enabled when there was a shortage of robots/repair packs/walls/etc.

I used to have my schedule as "Repair, Repair, Repair, Home". So it would do up to 3 stations then go home. The criteria would be ...

Bulk Apply Target Priorities

Hi guys,
Is it possible to bulk apply Target Priorities to all turrets somehow?
ie, I want all my flame turrets to only target large biters/spitters, and ignore anything smaller.
I tried various shift, alt, ctrl, but only managed the old school "apply settings" to a single turret with shift-right ...

Re: Looking for a new challenge? [Veterans only]

I thought Efficiency modules used to reduce pollution, but when I look now, it just says it reduces power consumption?
The pollution production of your crafting buildings is proportional to their power consumption. An electric furnace normally produces 1 pollution per minute. One with two EFF 2 ...

Re: Looking for a new challenge? [Veterans only]

Yeah, if Bobs creates mixed enemies that need the full suite of turrets + landmines to repel them, that'd be fun. Fast moving armored biters to take out the land mines, mirror biters to take out the lasers, flame resistant biters... The only thing that works are uranium magazines! hah.

its ...

Re: Looking for a new challenge? [Veterans only]

I have to confess i've never really tried landmines. Probably a bit late in the game now. But i'll give them a try.
Also not sure how well they'll go with these enemies, as they're buffed up with high resistances compared to vanilla.
Flame is not very good with them for example. Its laser laser ...

Re: Looking for a new challenge? [Veterans only]

Did it take 4200 hours to beat it? That's massive. Regular DW Marathon is like 40-100 hours. but Marathon probably scales brutally in SpaceX.

Anyway, sounds like a good combo. I didn't enjoy Rampant that much, either

Did you have special map settings?
Did you use landmines, flamethrowers and/or ...

Re: Looking for a new challenge? [Veterans only]

Tbh, I would not risk any infrastructure not walled off period, ever. Just not worth it, to have to drive for 2 minutes to repair an accidentally aggroed power pole, or see a train get stuck while driving over biters.

Agreed. I may initially have a oil pump undefended during very early game ...

Re: Looking for a new challenge? [Veterans only]

Do enemies attack infrastructure in Bobs? That and pheromones make Rampant pretty hard.

Yes the enemies attack everything in Bobs Enemies, just like normal vanilla. I didnt do Rampant in the end, just Bobs Enemies.

The one solution I've seen for Rampant is to get to oil at all costs, even if ...
