Definitely seems like a problem that needs to be fixed. Veteran players remember when direction of the rails decided how many inserters would fit per train cart, but a great effort has been taken by the devs to remove these kinds of quirks. Here's two other, not-so-convoluted examples from a real game.

In barely-on-curve.png the locomotive is barely on the curve, but the train that was in front of it has been disconnected and then it started driving. The train used to be 2-8-2 so 2 locomotives on each end.

Is it even only about interruptions? I have several trains that get stuck like this (see image). There is no limit on the destination station, there is no train blocking the route. It's already kind of going (there is the stop-button). When I press that button, it starts actually going immediately ...

I don't know but now that matches the basic oil processing recipe where only one of the outputs is in use. In the oil processing recipe it's to make it possible to change the recipe later to the advanced oil processing. Maybe the same here?

Upgrading a train where the locomotive is parked underneath an elevated rail causes the locomotive to be placed on the elevated section, breaking the train. See image.

Still happens with buffer chests.

1. Build a ghost
2. Start setting up requests
3. Robot builds the chest
4. Gui closes automatically while I'm still trying to set the recipe.

I have this exact problem! I have no mods in use, so that does not affect it. I cancel research and then push in another, the game crashes.

Research gui resets when selecting a tech

When you click a technology, the list on the left side scrolls back up. It makes it really hard to check the tehcnologies at the bottom consecutively.
