Re: Friday Facts #432 - Aquilo

The best landing spot you could find was this large iceberg. The sheet of ice is only a few meters thick and seems to contain a lot of trapped air, but frozen water is a very solid material as long as it stays cold. It's able to support a landing pad, so that's good enough.

Re: Friday Facts #427 - Combat Balancing & Space Age LAN

After the PLD debuff, you are partially able to offset the PLD debuff by using Quality components. But the Quality mod is supposed to be optional, and is only available to players who purchase Space Age. This creates an issue: players who don’t buy Space Age are stuck with the PLD debuff and have no ...

Re: Friday Facts #425 - Behind the legs

Absolutely, the new spidertron movement is creepy. I think I would prefer the old spidertron movement (or some facsimile in the new movement system) to stay. Maybe re-order the spidertron's leg movement groups to be more symmetrical?

Re: Friday Facts #416 - Fluids 2.0

The old fluid system was unpredictable (it depended on build order) and removing it is a positive change. I had high hopes for the solution presented in fff-274, but that was never released. And there is no guarantee it would work with the 2.0 space age fluid volumes.

Instead we have the newly ...

Re: Friday Facts #406 - Space Age Music

I really enjoy the music for Space and Vulcanus. However, the music for Fulgora is very stressful. I think I would like to mute both that music and the thunderstrikes in order to feel more comfortable.

Please consider incorporating jukebox or music player controls that allow users to enable/disable ...

Please allow the RTS Tool to also control trains. My personal train, my artillery train, my big artillery train, my builder train, all the trains!

They announced "Remote Drive" for trains on the previous FFF. So no RTS Tool needed for that.
Also selecting a train and sending it to a ...

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring

Who here is going to need to adjust their mall blueprint to remove the construction of red/blue wire and artillery/spidertron remotes? 8-)

I have them in my mall, so that's 1.

(Lets not talk about the discharge remote.)

Re: Friday Facts #379 - Abstract rewiring

I explained it incorrectly. Yes, Spidertron's remote was mentioned in the list of Abstract Objects. However, there was no explanation as to how it would now work, and this is one of the most complex items along with blueprints. Therefore, I suggested that there will be a more detailed FFF about ...

Also I don’t think anyone here would be mad if you broke saves. If breaking saves is going to happen in 2.1 I’d rather wish it happens when 2.0 is released. Honestly why bother keeping compatibility for such a big update. This is a chance for the developers to add features that were not possible ...

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality

Every single time you want to have a quality version of an item, you *must* build a disassembler loop.
I would like to point out a disassembler loop is a brute-force method of getting quality items. Alternatives exist; you can have the main science factory create quality components as a by ...

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality

I like this idea. Using RNG is good, this encourages the planning of interesting layouts.

My 2 cents for the naming; Crude, Fair, Good, Great, Excellent. But in the end, easily changed; "there's a mod for that".

Higher quality Lamps should illuminate a larger radius?

Cool, great feature, hope to ...

As an example of viewing/editing/deleting documents, lets look at Windows. There is not a single windows document editing application that has a delete button for removing the entire document. Notepad has no such button. Excel doesn't have it. Write, Word, Wordpad... none of them.

Will there be an 1.0 RC?

Query: Will a 1.0 RC be distributed to the general userbase in advance of 1.0 release? Will a 1.0 RC be distributed to select streamers so they can prepare?

Also, in lieu of the launch party, i suggest a streamed speedrun of the developers

Isn't the lore that you crash landed on this planet and have to build your way off it?
IIRC it is. And IMHO this particular part of the lore should not be changed. You crashland on an alien world. Hear scurrying creatures of in the distance. And instead of giving up and dying to those bugs, you ...

This seems like added friction, requiring an added mouse click for what can be a very frequent operation, cleaning a blueprint from the cursor. Requiring a cursor move can also be disruptive if a player is trying to build multiple blueprints that are intended to be aligned with each other, e.g ...
