I find that starting zones leave something to be desired, While I do not think the starting zones have to be the same in every game, I currently think that there can be to high of extremes for them, a starting zone with no oil on a death world is not going to work out. I think this can be easily fix...

Auto routing for trains/belts
It would be nice to have a feature where drones can auto route train tracks and conveyor belts with just a starting and end point, would make those really long conveyor belt/track lines easier to put down.

Train preview should show station names
simple suggestion, on the main map the station names for trains are shown, but in the train preview map they are not, which is would be nice when looking at it to schedule trains.

well technically you probably should maybe the take away suggestion for this should be: 1. I think they are attempting to address the scaling of difficulty, currently the difficulty is kind of static and primarily based on density of aliens, it really becomes mute in the late game even on the highest density (if you can crawl laser turrets you can melt enemies).

Coal/oil is not the only product that has this problem, trees also have little use in the late game, its easier to make power lines with steel and using wood as a fuel is pointless out side of the first few minutes of the game. I find my self using a flame thrower to clear trees instead of chopping ...

a planning mode would be nice, often times i find my self making little mistakes on my layouts and plans and it would be nice if i could plan it out in advance.

what does the crafting speed value actually mean? for instance if an item has a crafting speed of one second and the crafting speed of a factory is 0.5 does this mean it actually takes two seconds to make?
