Re: Friday Facts #395 - Generic interrupts and Train stop priority
These are very nice additions! I just hope that you don't get lost in these kinds of "minor" optimisations. For the average player it is probably quite difficult to learn all of that. Did you think about adding a tutorial for the advanced train and circuit features? I think that could help...

This is one of the rare occasions where I would buy something blindly!

@ Drury
I see your concerns but they said that some of the planned features will need engine changes. So we can expect to see something which is currently not possible with mods

I'm very much looking forward to this!
Really curious what direction the expansion will go. Space would be the obvious theme but maybe you'll surprise us with something different.
Anyway great to see that you got Earendel on board. He basically already produced an expansion for Factorio

These are really good changes! Across the board! Below, a list of controls that I wish the game had told me or explained to me more thoroughly. I'm almost sure you have them all covered because of how impactful they are and how much out-of-the-box thinking some of them require to be discovered, but...

2 million copies, times say... 100 hours each average game play (a very conservative number considering I'm closing in on 3000). 200 million hours of fun, and still counting. Or time wasted. Or therapy time. Or time with friends. Or without. :) That estimates approximately 22,831 years of time . TH...

2020 keeps on giving.. No more FFF.... RIP. This seems an odd choice to me. Why shift to an email newsletter and not just continue posting whatever/whenever to the same existing channel that the FFF's used? Just turn it into 'Updates' or something, maybe even still only post them on Friday (just no...

I noticed that the 1.0 update on steam is marked as "small update". Maybe you should mark it as big because big updates are featured on the main page. In general I think a bit of advertisement on steam could help but I don't know how thats working Well, they're on the header in the Steam ...

Congratulations! I started playing 6 years ago and it's still my favorite game! You did an unbelievably good Job with it. I knew that there will be some kind of surprise in 1.0 but didn't hoped for the spidertron. I have to try it now  Just for the record: I would be more than willing to bu...

wow, I've expected 1.0 to be a relatively boring update but both improvements of blueprint library and visuals of nuclear explosion are great! I'm looking forward to both. However, I hope the explosion sound from the attached movie is going to be replaced with something more impactful - I would exp...

Do you have texture compression enabled? I had performance issues when it was disabled.

Re: Slow map download speed
I agree that the map download seems to behave weird sometimes. When my friend joins my game he sometimes starts downloading with 4 MB/s but then after around 25% it drops to 1.6 MB/s. I have 1 Gbit/s upload and he has ~50 Mbit/s download speed. It is of course not a critical issue but maybe the devs...

Re: 0.17 Multiplayer System Requirements
So again the Question would be: What hardware is usually enough to join a typical 48+-game without bothering which serve is used and how big the map is. I'm not playing on public servers, only coop with a friend so I dont know how big the bases on those servers are. In my current 200h game with mod...

Re: 0.17 Multiplayer System Requirements
What kind of servers are you trying to join? On Megabase servers with full game speed you will get problems but "smaller" servers should work fine. Maybe try a few maps in Singleplayer to see how many ups you get with your cpu. Compared to 0.15, 0.17 is WAY more performant but of course at...

Re: Friday Facts #331 - 0.18.0 release & Train pathfinder changes
We made 0.18 a major version because it will break mods with all the changes we are making, and while initially it hasn't broken that much, many things to come will have a bigger impact, such as the Character GUI. Does this mean that later 0.18.x releases will break mods again? I think you should t...
