I agree that the map download seems to behave weird sometimes. When my friend joins my game he sometimes starts downloading with 4 MB/s but then after around 25% it drops to 1.6 MB/s. What kind of servers are you trying to join? On Megabase servers with full game speed you will get problems but "smaller" servers should work fine. Maybe try a few maps in Singleplayer to see how many ups you get with your cpu. Compared to 0.15, 0.17 is WAY more performant but of course at...
