The placed walls would connect to the wall ghost, expanding their bounding boxes and at least one of them would then collide with the tree, so it doesn't allow to build the ghost there. Would it help, to place a wall blueprint, which cannot miss a spot?

Why is the bounding box of single wall smaller than a connected wall. Could it not be the same?

Regarding first case: the 100 damage per sec. for the fire-sticker is not affected by refined-flammable research. Don't know, if it is as intended. And flamethrower ammo should affect the handheld flamethrower and not the turret, but here is probably another related bug: https://forums.factorio.com/...

Imo not a bug.
You can use filter inserter and/or circuit logic to achieve this.

Steam removes older versions automatically and forces you to use a higher version. If you download the zip version, you can stay on this version forever. On the other hand: You can upgrade and fix your problem. Someone upgraded a seablock game from 0.16 to 1.1 and it worked (with some broken recipes...

This was the reasoning, why the behaviour is intended. Thanks for the report. That is currently working as intended: we decided during development that upgrading both ends was (almost) always what was wanted however when canceling it wasn't always what was wanted. That might change in the future but...
