I was just thinking along a similar line to this but with the idea of electricity completely removed on place of mechanical energy. But.... coming back up after writing all of this makes me think... parts 1-3 would just be replacing power poles with animated shafts and gears that actually just condu...

Ah I see. A key difference to v0.14. If others are using the same station to load and unload, and have the issue where one side load too many and the other side compensate, here is a quick fix. I have worked this one out.
It occurs when the roboport being read is in a state with no power.

The roboport UI also reflects this. ie: the sidebar detail shrinks a little as soon as it runs out of power as it has less details.
