5. It absolutely helps, it makes the basic one work indefinitely until you want some light or heavy from it. And since you unlock the tools to fix the problem along with unlocking the problem, it's much better.

Why is there no mention to changes to fluid box connections in entities? There definitely was some change, since several mods broke due to it.

I'll just mention that the only real use for light oil was making efficient solid fuel previously. How much of it did you really spend for flamethrower?
I fed my outpost's flamethowers exclusively with light oil.
That was an everpresent option A all the way until today's final discussions ...

But when it comes to blue science, suddenly we get a long chain of new things requiring A LOT of time investment before any actual progress made toward the goal (blue science pack). Long time taking tasks with no intermediate rewards kills the fun. That are the factors that contribute to it

Allowing the player to select individual recipes (heavy or light or petroleum gas only) would allow to completely avoid using Advanced oil processing. That's surely dumbing it down significantly. Adding flare stacks has the same effect of making Advanced oil processing completely optional ...

And food for though: Assuming basic oil outputs only heavy, I was able to whip up a setup that outputs all 3 oils in under 60s without needing to know ratios, without having to worry about bottle necks, etc:

Oh, it's highly reproducable. It happens on each and every update (at least since .17.50)
Unfortunately I only have the .17.53 save as of now...

It's very likely that it is completely my fault (because of my "mod" ValandirsTweaks, see attachments), but it did not happen with 0.16 and I don't recall it happening prior to maybe .17.50? Unfortunately I don't remember exactly when it did NOT happen the last time.
