Re: Friday Facts #320 - Color correction
I don't mind the color changes. I think they are close enough to still be acceptable to me. What I am more interested in are the LUTs. Is that going to be something mod makers have access to change or create new ones? One of the great features of Cities Skylines was the ability to add LUTs to change...

Re: Friday Facts #314 - 0.17 stable
Getting first mount at level 40 for 100 gold? You have to walk a lot before you get it and it might feel annoying at times. But when you actually get it, it means A LOT. Similar as how it is a game changer to get construction robots/logistic robots/power armor. Getting there isn't easy, and there a...

Re: [MOD 0.17+] Industrial Revolution (0.99.x)
Deadlock would it be possible to make a visual tech tree like this one here? https://davemcw.com/factorio/tech-tree/ I would love to be able to browse this while I wait for stuff to craft or while I am at work. I have no idea how difficult something like this is so I understand if it is not feasible...

Re: [MOD 0.17+] Industrial Revolution (0.99.x)
Could you add ironman starting kit? (a.k.a. start with nada) How about an Ironman Kit that gives you power armor, defense lasers and nanobots ;) Played your mod for about 8 hours and I have to say it has been a very enjoyable experience. I haven't played Factorio since .16 times because I did not l...

I have seen this topic before. Probably like a year ago I think. It is one of those very subtle sounds that few people even know exists.

Yeah, this should probably be looked at. I did get a good laugh out of it though.

Re: Friday Facts #288 - New remnants, More bugs
As someone who has done QA and helps their friends QA I loved reading about the bug reports. I understand how you were able to reproduce some things but what boggles my mind is how someone did those things in the first place to cause the bug. They just seem so out of the way that I cannot imagine th...

Re: Friday Facts #283 - Prepare to Launch
As you can see, there are a lot of things happening at the last moment, but it seems that there shouldn't be a big obstacle in the way of release next week. What about the 65 unassigned bug reports? I'm sure they're VERY thankful that you mentioned bug reports. I suspect they're so unfamiliar with ...

Re: Friday Facts #282 - 0.17 in sight
yeah I assumed thats what the original graphics were trying to do - show that they are connected in a grid. Now I am wondering why we don't have Tesla Coils for defense. I feel like that could be a unique turret type. Arcing AoE and more of them combined could chain together for more damage. They c...

I don't know what you guys screwed up, but I'm noticing a distinct lack of complaints in the replies so it must be something HUGE. Just wait until the I-want-fluids-to-be-as-simple-as-electricity proponents get here... I want the electricity system to be as detailed as the new fluid system! I...

Re: Any Roboport variations inbound?
I would also like to suggest another idea. A charging pad that has no bot storage, no logi or construction area, and is smaller than a roboport. It would have more charging slots than the current roboport does as well. Research could give it more slots and faster charging.

I for one really like the new logo. Have you thought about adding some color to it though? I would also be interested in buying those PAX rollups as posters.

Re: The Problem With Pickaxes - Digging Out Factorio's Core
It took a while to read through everything but I am glad that this post got started. I feel similar to the OP with the direction of the game. Removal of system, mechanic, or idea for the sake of simplicity is not always a good thing. I think I might be in the middle of the road here though. I liked ...

Re: Any Settler fans here?
They are working on a Settlers 8, trailer here . I also saw that they are working on a Settlers Anthology that will have all of the old ones in it. Supposedly they are also working on a new Anno game titled Anno 1800. They haven't updated the news section in over a year on that game though so no tel...

Re: wood stacking raw vs cut
Raw wood stacks to 100 and has a fuel value of 4MJ. Wood stacks to 50 and has a fuel value of 2MJ. You get 2 Wood from a single piece of Raw Wood. Allowing Wood to stack up to 200 would have still have the same fuel value as a full stack of Raw Wood.

So with new walls, turrets are just begging to be put on top of the walls as a strong foundation for them. Ohhh yeah, just like Warzone 2100! https://media.moddb.com/images/games/1/1/275/wz_fort.JPG One of the most amazing games I have ever played! I could see each of the turret types taking some c...

Okay, thanks for the advice! I'll start working on this soon (although I'm not sure how much time I'll have available). Re: The size of bots
About the only way I have seen that nerfs bots in an acceptable way(to me at least) is to give every item a weight and the bots a carrying capacity. Each item would weigh something based on input materials. Each bot has a recommended carrying capacity that it performs best at. All bots can carry all...

Re: Is the Steam version of Factorio behind?
Cliffs are likely to stay as is in 0.16. It looks like they actually released 0.16 as stable today. I've just been turning them off as I don't feel they offer any meaningful game play.
