I'm not sure that focusing on factory optimizations is a great idea moving forward, at least for the next few releases. I'd prefer to see things like bridges (for water crossings) and either overground or underground walkways to get past things like pipes and avoid being stuck on an isolated island ...

Is there any movement on this? I'm having the same problem with Yosemite and the recommendations havent really reduced the issue at large. The issue is something that is also visible via the main menu.

I'll add that it would make much more sense if the lab could be continuously filled with science packs despite any delay in the research time. It seems arbitrary and difficult to figure out what exactly is going on.

What about the gears? Does there need to be a transport belt and inserter for each end? I'm also having the same issue with the copper plates getting into the assembler machine. I've checked on this a few times and whether or not an inserter will move an item into an assembler or other building is ...

I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to have plates from the furnace placed into the machine for making gears and then the gears into the next machine to build science packs. The copper plates won't place into the machine either. Note: I tried (assuming I did it right) the suggestion in this thread ...
