What we really need is quality fluids! So you use legendary holmium solution to make legendary holmium plates. (or is that going to cause to much hell with fluid mixing?)

Same issue for me. Very annoying. Changes the option to use images from "nice for explanation" to "wow, cumbersome".
As a temporary workaround on windows, have a look at a small tool I just found, pasteintofile (https://github.com/EslaMx7/PasteIntoFile)

Quality is poised to be something you need to keep tight control over in a base since it potentially causes a lot of disruption if intermingled into normal production. One reason is that regular counts will no longer work. E.g. stacks get split (no full trains), recipes become incompatible ...

Clicking with a wire to change a signals color seems interesting. But wires themself are items/signals too and clicking a signal selector box with an item picks the corresponding signal. So it would normally change the signal to red/green wire, not change the color of the signal. Selecting a red ...

That's basically asking for a new feature for read content like option to be able to choose what signals to read as one part. The other part is just cosmetic, to have the R/G checkboxes instead be background color behind the signal and to be selected nested one level deeper. Too much stuff ...

I'd like to suggest an alternative implementation of the same goal.
Instead of adding red/green UI everywhere, make "red", "green", and into modifiers that apply overtop existing signals, selectable in the signal selection UI, in the same way that you can apply quality overtop an existing ...

I wonder if being able to toggle clipping the entity/tile rendering to it's actual ground coordinates would already solve this. (Aka cutting off anything that would hide a different entity/tile, but entirely implemented in the renderer) Might not be the most beautiful solution, but it keeps showing ...

[Twinsen] Frame Layout screwed up after leaving graphics menu
When pausing the game and entering the graphics sub menu in options, the paused-frame moves upwards. That's fine so far. But once you leave the sub menu the paused-frame moves in front of the menu. In the attachement you can see the problem. So far that happend only when leaving the graphics sub menu.

In order to allow tracking of special trains it'd be cool if trains could send a configurable (constant) signal on a configurable channel.
How i'd use it: coal trains:
Are you train 22? -> default inserters, don't do anything, coal inserters, extract coal from the other side

I totally agree that some way to re-place pumps after they got destroyed by accident or by enemies would be nice (rather than having to redesign the whole setup because you can't place them where they have been before)
