Re: [MOD 0.17] Industrial Revolution

Thanks for the amazing mod, Deadlock. It refreshed my interest in Factorio and has already given me hours of entertainment. I'm approaching Future Age and it's a joy to watch these machines do their thing.

Re: [MOD 0.13.17+] Rampant - 0.17.26

How much should the HE, Bio, and incendiary bullets compete with uranium ones same for cannon shells? Currently I assumed that uranium was a step up, but you are right that long term it causes the other types to not matter. I think they absolutely should compete, as uranium ammo isn't exactly all t...

Re: [MOD 0.13.17+] Rampant - 0.17.26

I have some feedback after having played with this mod for many hours in my current playthrough. First off, it's fantastic. It gives the enemy some much needed variation, and the new weapon options in Rampant Arsenal are all really interesting to play around with and look awesome. I do wonder how ex...

Re: [MOD 0.16.36+] Rampant Arsenal - 0.17.16

I'm unable to research Rocket Turrets 2 (for the Rapid Rocket Turret) even though all the prerequisites are researched and green. See screenshot. (The few techs above that didn't fit on the screen are also researched). https://puu.sh/DE78j/e99b8ccf87.png Edit: After further digging, Cannon Turrets 2...

Re: [0.17+] Space Exploration WIP

This mod looks amazing. Fantastic work! I'm currently in the middle of a playthrough so I'm giving it a bit, but I can already tell that I will enjoy this a lot.

I was wondering if these different worlds also had different day/night cycles? (Is such a thing even possible?)

Re: [0.17] Please post bugs and balance issues here.

I think there might be a bug with the spawning of gemstone patches. When I turn the frequency down (to, say, 25%), they get absolutely massive in size - so large you could build an entire factory on one. I don't believe the frequency of patches should affect their size, right? I can easily replicate...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts

Never liked mass use of logistics bot within the factory itself. They trivialize logistics and make Factorio not feel like Factorio anymore, or rather, it makes a factory not feel or look like a (typical) factory. I also like the challenge that belts provide. Making big blocks of assembly machines n...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I guess my arguments came mostly from the few times where I notice I'm running low on something like coal and decide to quickly belt over some new coal patch, which I can do in like a minute, opposed to starting a rail line and having to future-plan for an entire s...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

I have another dumb question! Aside from being awesome, what benefit is there to using trains over belts? Even with ore depots incredibly far away it still seems more efficient to me to just belt the goods over, both in initial cost and (especially) time spend laying the infrastructure. Of course, t...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

Thanks guys, I think I get it. But, just to get a sense of the scale involved... are we talking absolute ridiculous mega-factories here? I've launched a couple of rockets in different playthroughs with just single-lane busses (blue belts—I assume they have more throughput?), and while these were adm...

Re: Simple Questions and Short Answers

What's the advantage of a multi-lane bus? To clarify, I mean having 4 lanes for copper plates, 4 iron lanes, etc. I've seen some big youtubers sticking by this and discussing optimization of load balancing in all complicated ways and to great lengths, but it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me...
