Re: Masotorio. [0.17.45 (anything higher at your own risk)]

Hello all, I've recently decided I'm done with AB+ runs for a while, but am waiting for the full PY-suite before I do another Pyanodon's run. This pack looks like a good option for the meantime. The trick is that Steam won't let me choose a version older than 0.17.57 without going back to 0.16 stabl...

Somebody needs to read #299 again. :P

Re: UPS Death

Whelp... My USB controller died. Rather than replace that, I'm getting a shiny new box that should do better with such things. Watching KoS and Aven's Py stream to pass time while waiting to get started on this beast!

Re: UPS Death

I've been playing Satisfactory for a while, though it won't compete in any long run unless they do a wonder on mods, but I thought I would check back in. Last time I tried to play with PySuite ( prePH) I gave up after 1 hour loading (and not to 50% yet). Is the situation improved over last 2 months?...

Look at the screenshots he posted in Bugs and FAQ thread. Page 105. Sorry no link, bad mobile device.

Re: UPS Death

I played through it before PyRO - that was quite a lot. Back then the game loaded up in about 30-45 minutes, so I'd start it and go do something else for a while. Seeing some of these recipes that require (e.g.) 15,000 iron ore in to get out 1 splitter makes me question my sanity for wanting to play...

Re: Angel's Bio Processing [ALPHA UPDATE]

If wood -> plastic is working, im fine. (dont think anything in that chain has changed) I wonder why last update for that mod is so long (around 5 months)? I think he's making some rather major changes with Industry, which his probably why the long wait. The screenshots he's shared make it look lik...

Indeed I did. Sadly, still no joy. Think I'll go try B+A 0.17 and come back here when I get a new box.

Re: UPS Death

I can't play at all. Only 8gb of RAM so Pyanodons mods are unplayable. :( I waited 2 hours and the game wasn't even half way loaded.

Re: Huge memory load Pyanodons mods

I'm in this boat too. Used to play full pY suite, but had to stop due to memory load on my modest desktop with 8gb of RAM.

I'm hopeful though maybe not optimistic to be able to play it again when v0.17 is out (and after mod updates).

Re: Ammonia in Rocket Fuel

I always used barrels and bots for such volumes of fluids. The 500 barrels/sec you mentioned isn't too bad, at late game that only takes about 35 bots times flight time, then doubled to move empties. Less than 1k fusion bots, which I have in small factories easily. With that kind of science you can ...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Even if I think the ability to mod a game is important, even if I understand that Bob's, Angel's, and a few others' mods add so much to the game that many players find them essential, my opinion is that Vanilla experience must be coherent all by itself. I know a few other people have voiced this to...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

I'm amazed at how the removal of a useless act (crafting the object pickaxe) is prophetized to end the world. Honestly, I can't understand how not having to manually craft oneself a pickaxe has any chance to drastically change the game into anything else. Wait, you think this is about the pickaxe? ...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Vanilla should be designed as a well-rounded experience in that it has gameplay aspects that appeal to a variety of player types This is what many game developers try to do with simplifying and cleaning up and totally destroy the game they are making, resulting in a boring generic game with no appe...

Re: Friday Facts #266 - Cleanup of mechanics

Looks like I'll just be sticking to 0.16 then, to avoid the downgrade to 0.17. :( Some of these "features" that are being removed don't add squat to vanilla, I'll happily admit. And vanilla will be a better game without them. But I lost interest in vanilla factorio years ago. It's heavily ...

Re: Friday Facts #254 - No research queue for you

All the experience related items mentioned in the FFF post... Well, for those of us with over 1k hours in the game, yeah, none of those are pros. I think this has more to do with not having to debug a feature, but heck, there's already a mod for this. I won't go purple in the face when I've been que...

When I downloaded Angels mods initially, certain parts of Bob's mods were listed as dependencies IIRC. Is that not the case any more?

Re: [0.16.36] [Bob+Angel] Cost of petrochemical oil tank is off

What's missing here is the footprint of the tanks. I don't care what the capacity of the tank is, but rather the capacity divided by the footprint area, to get a number for fluid stored per tile of space. I actually don't remember what the various footprints are though, so I'm unable to contribute f...
