Place items relative to inserter orientation instead of belt orientation
It appears that inserters placed inline with belts always place items on the right-hand side of the belt, no matter what direction the inserter is facing. I have this same issue. Items in the list won't stay selected for more than a fraction of a second. Makes the list completely unusable.

Not unless the autosave happens at seemingly random intervals, sometimes every minute or so.
