Re: Making things a bit tougher with mods... [Challenge]
I wonder, and maybe this depends on the mod I'm using, but I have a feeling the biters are responding to my total amount of pollution generated, regardless of if it is in one location or spread over multiple locations. ;-(

Re: Making things a bit tougher with mods... [Challenge]
Sounds like a good temporary solution when in a pinch like I was.
The evolved bug behavior though really got me. I wasn't expecting them to chew through my walls so easily, or come so relentlessly in waves. I'm not sure how I could have guarded against in, save for keeping pollution much lower by ...

Re: Making things a bit tougher with mods... [Challenge]
Mission accomplished... Thing's are certainly tougher now. Especially the combination of fewer resources with more aggressive bugs.

Re: Resource Spawner Overhaul - Discussion thread
For some reason I was getting large clumps of highly dense resources, with 3-4k per square! I went into the config file and turned the numbers down though, which seemed to fix the issue.

Making things a bit tougher with mods... [Challenge]
After getting back into Factorio after a half year absence and tinkering a bit, I decided to start fresh with a few mods installed to make things much tougher. Here is what I'm doing now....

Re: Friday Facts #69 Sympathy for the creeper
A very nice post. Thank you for going into some of the thoughts behind the game. Factorio is something like an exploration of or meditation on technology and progress. The way that the factory takes on a "life of its own". It is quite philosophical in this way. The player begins with very simple ...

Re: Japanese Translation
Nice. I saw a few Japanese LPs online and a Japanese wiki too. Really nice to see Japanese fans of overseas indie games working on helping make them more accessible.

I did search for this too, and I found that the discussion was a bit fragmented. One of the threads was actually filled with like a dozen comments.
Anyhow, definitely want this feature. Some little lake should be drained up real fast by a large boiler system.

Re: First Factory (warning: contains pictures)
Wow.
Did you need to do a lot of deconstruction and reconstruction to get it looking so nice, given that this is your first factory?

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)
I love how the devs (dev?) have a very close eye for the little things. Playing the stable release, I noticed that there was no warning sound when things were being attacked. If you weren't paying attention to the map you might turn around to find a bunch of stuff had been destroyed. I also noticed ...

Yay! I am getting that crash bug a bit too, but it's worth it to enjoy the updated sound effects etc. Very nice!

Re: Thank you (Make the dev-team happy today!)
On day Factorio day two now and my third sandbox map. I just got my first refinery up and going. Wow what a journey.

Re: Great game
Thanks for the advice. I started a new game anyhow to make use of what I learned in the first few hours and through watching a few lets plays, and I took the opportunity to nudge up the size of the critter spawns. I also learned how to see the smog on the map, so I can see it getting closer to ...

Great game
Only just found this today. Really enjoying it. ;-)
Just a quick question.
I've started a sandbox mode game with standard settings, and a few hours in and I've yet to have any critters attack my base. Is it just because I'm not pumping out enough pollution yet? I have a bunch of boilers going ...
