I do, and I think we all have to do this.
Since you have no underground belts, long-hand inserters, and other stuff, your factory at start is nothing like it will be few hours later.

You can try to plan everything in advance, but I guess it's quite hard..

I like that idea, but for it, there must have a green solution for each pollutive industry.

Actually, converting oil to anything creates pollution. For the Roleplay, it seems necessary to allow the player to do everything in green (more expensive, but more challenge!)

After thinking about it, I would prefer that Factorio stays how it is, and a new game mod would be added. It won't be us who land on a planet, but a sort of "Starcraft II's mule", a robot (or multiple robots), and then we control them, command them (Like villagers on AoE, SCVs on Starcraft...
