Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
Each of the two revealed planets have a "post-game utility". Vulcanus will be an infinite supply of stone, iron and copper. Fulgora will be an infinite supply of oil. From my understanding, this system is put in place both so the gameplay doesn't repeat itself, and as an actual use for th...

Re: Friday Facts #399 - Trash to Treasure
Five module slots? Oof, as much fun as that would be to play with, that means the recycler would have to be extra stingy to compensate.

Re: Friday Facts #383 - Super force building
Ahh yes, Super Force Building! I think I played that back on the SNES. Meaningful content edit: the major theme of the past few updates is remote interactions, and I am quite excited, though I am curious about multiplayer. What would you think about providing indicators on the map to show where play...

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality
Hang on, this is introducing byproducts without them actually being byproducts. .... Clever.
Fake edit: it also doesn't help whenever I see the word "Quality" by itself I hear it in the Pointy-Haired Boss's voice along with "Synergy" and "Integration."

Re: Friday Facts #375 - Quality
I just don't think the concept and Factorio go together. The whole point of Factorio is mass automation, and the quality occurs from inventing better MK machines and concepts, not random chance. Having a random chance to craft a better quality item is fine for an organic craftsman refining their tra...

Re: [0.18.15] [Linux] Crash after double-clicking a mod's "Homepage" Entry
Works under Popos 19.10. Welp, nevermind then.
If I figure out anything on my end that widens the affected base, I'll add it here, otherwise I'll just leave it at that.

[0.18.15] [Linux] Crash after double-clicking a mod's "Homepage" Entry
In the mod window, under the manage tab, double-clicking on a mod's "Homepage" entry will cause the game to hang, and writes a crash event to the logfile. Reproducible without mods by interacting with the base mod. Running the command xdg-open, which is what the game appears to be calling,...

Re: Friday facts #158 - The end of the 32 bit era
Hellos, I just wanted to quickly chime in and say that not all 64-bit machines are expensive powerhouses. I managed to get Factorio running on an Acer Cloudbook 11 (AO1-131-C9PM) that I bought for under $200. It runs constantly in the teen-twenties FPS on low graphics settings, but I can still suppo...
