Previously, I was able to select the option to research by using the graphical selection tool for the lab - right click on the lab, click on path to be researched, and then the research path selection GUI would show up (the same as available through 't').

I played 'New Hope' before and was able to research weapons - including rockets and chemistry. However, in a new iteration I've only completed the most basic research and I am not able to choose a new research endeavor. Is this purposeful or a problem?

Is there a pdf or wiki page with a list of the basic commands?

E.g. I forgot how to select a weapon and I didn't find the info on the wiki.
(The command can be found in the 'options' screen - but I'm wondering if there's a listing of commands.)

It was clear that one had to select the recipe to be constructed. It was unclear that I needed to manually place in the materials in the ingredients listing. The inserters seem to be required to remove the goods - but I was unsuccessful in loading the assembler using inserters.

I looked at the wiki page for the assembly machine and I am sure - how to get the resources out? and how to put the resources in? I've tried using inserters and not much happens.
