Dedi Server Problems
Short version, When I'm on LAN with the server I can play just fine. When on an internet connection (even a really fast one) I cannot catch up when connecting to the server, the catching up bar literally goes backwards and never completes. The server is running Debian 8 Core i7 2600K cpu and 16Gb ra...

Re: Laggy headless, why?
The scenario I'm using has he undecorator in it already.
The issue is not the save file size but the way the game handles the saves. Any file under 400mb should be written to disk in 1 second or less with a modern SSD and this is not happening.

Re: Laggy headless, why?
The whole reason to use Linux is because of the reduced overhead. Yes its slow on LAN as well. No antivirus no, the machine is freshly loaded less than a month ago. There is no slowness or lag when I copy a savegame for example to another directory. Is there anyone else with larger saves around 100m...

Re: Laggy headless, why?
As I said already I was mistaken the save file is ~100mb Sure compression would cause some delay etc but that should be handled in a separate thread from the main game so the game can continue to run while the saving takes place. Not sure what makes you think debian is not a capable os but lets just...

Re: Laggy headless, why?
I calculated it roughly based on the super slow download, it was about 100mb.
My point is why is the save speed so slow, regardless of the size of the file?

Re: 15.16 headless failing to launch.
multiplayer.address-in-use("0.0.0.0:34197")
I would guess "address in use" is just a bad way to say the port is in use already.
Maybe there is another process running already on the same port?

Laggy headless, why?
I'm running a headless server on debian 8. Specs are 8gb ram, i7 2600k, 120Gb SSD (550/450 read write speed) Internet is 100mbs down and 40mbs up. 1. Network lag: I'm seeing some crazy lag when I connect from work and when i SSH into the server and look at my transfer speeds it's 50-60kB/s. not even...

Re: 0.14.12 Desync loop every time I join the server
It was actually the "Easy teams" mod that caused it. Sorry for the false report, hard to figure out the cause with no good log

Re: New vanilla 4.11 test server
Man this thing was a mess to get working, I think I have it stable now with .14.13 and spacebook.
Might need to mess with spacebook settings to properly work for new players etc, anyone willing to drop by and test?

0.14.12 Desync loop every time I join the server
I set up a little server on one of Google's vps machines, the cpu usage almost never goes above 10% and ram is 500mb/2gb When I start the server I can play on it for as long as I want but as soon as i quit and try to join the server later again I get a constant desync loop. The only fix is to restar...

Headless Linux setup outdated
Hey there I recently created a little test server but it was hell to set up and I still struggle with constant desync issues. When I search for help all I see is guides to arguments like --latency that doesn't even show up in the server help anymore and I cant find it anywhere in the config files or...

New vanilla 4.13 test server
Anyone want to mess around with me playing factorio, I'm testing out a google cloud VPS.
It should be US west, I did not setup fancy ddns or anything so its just listed in the public servers as " 0.14.11|come join and have fun|us-west| "
Thanks.
