Why are wires consumed when placed and not retrieved like pretty much all other items?

will it inevitably have too little throughput to keep most of the important stuff running. I am not talking about efficiency
In theory it can work. You can always reduce excess production until everything fits on the belt.
But efficiency and speed is a problem. One red belt is limited to 26 ...

Single Belt System
I went through the usual I guess. Starting organically, then trying some minor designs, then going for the main bus... In my second game I tried a single belt system and it failed horribly of course so I abandoned the idea. However then I noticed something similar called 3-belt system around here ...

Changing iron ore to steel is a rather large change, since it is a decent hassle to produce steel.
Is it though? Concrete is researched AFTER steel only and to produce steel you need only iron and fuel (or just iron if using electrical furnace). I find bringing iron ore to concrete production ...

The only thing I dislike with lazy bastard achievement is how you have to rush automation lvl 2, because you can't automate anything with automation lvl 1 : Assembling machine 1 needs 3 ingredients, but accepts only 2.
Burner mining drill needs 3 items too. So you can't automate even a coal ...

Pretty much all recipes in the game are rather sensible though the amounts of resources involved are sometimes questionable but for the sake of balance/game I have no major issues with them. But for concrete.

What is the typical/expected production ratio for different types of produce?
Typically I either massively overproduce something or underproduce it. Especially when building more production lines it seems to screw up what seemed to be well balanced factory... And fixing it without planning for it ...

[0.14.7] VSync causes tearing in windowed mod
I experienced screen tearing when playing so I enabled vsync only to discover it became even worse - the whole screen is being sliced in two diagonally when moving... It happens both when playing windowed or fullscreen. Is there a way to fix the vsync/tearing via some game settings or somesuch?
