Re: My space age review
For me personally it was a missbuy.
I have to laugh every time I read somebody writing something like this. [...]
it sounds funny to me, too. like as if a video game was some kind of investment or something. basically every video game wastes time unless you go pro and earn money playing ...

There is a gigantic difference between things failing at 80% power satisfaction vs 50% .

I think it is a great feature. The train stations have really memorable names. In the sense that you can actually recognize stations after very few times their name comes up.

Re: Upgrade
I would say if your principal or sole interest was in megabasing then Space Age may not be a natural fit for you. Also if you have OCD and can't endure throwing away stuff you may have a hard time. If neither of this is true then Space Age is Base Game times two in everything

Small correction: 101 are 6% of minimum income wage since this month, it seems.
This is the regional pricing of steam, wube can't change that AFAIK. You need to contact steam, only they can adjust regional pricing, probably for ALL their games at once!

Would consider this if the speed boosts were similar to quality-upgrades in Factorio.

Re: What to do in the Space Age post game?
More SPM? No, it's all dwarfed by all the quality-based million-SPM things. I cannot and don't want to compete with that.
Why compete?
If you don't like quality, don't use it.
I'm kind of at the same spot as you, and for the first time in like forever I wanna play on.

Re: "Quality" almost single-handedly ruined my love of the game, here's how I pushed through that mental block
Everything about a game is optional so I'm not sure what point you're making.
Huh? Playing a game itself is optional. But to finish or advance in a game many things are not. For example paltforms are not optional in space age. Assemblers are (probably) not optional.
But many other things are ...

Re: Status of 2.1?
As I know, they do not plan any new content to 2.1.
Just some new features which was not added to 2.0.
Actually, it is pretty hard to add new content, as it requires much more work then even Space Age.
First of all, new major content should not be just "a new building" or "a new planet". It ...

Re: "Quality" almost single-handedly ruined my love of the game, here's how I pushed through that mental block
Same here. I’ve been thinking about starting a new playthrough of Space Age, but the whole quality thing just puts me off. Even though I don’t have to use it, it feels like a broken mod I can’t uninstall. When part of the joy of Factorio is making your factory run perfectly and elegantly, having ...

Re: Status of 2.1?
I just hope they consider updating the game a la "No man's sky", "Dwarf Fortress" and "Terraria", or release paid dlcs with new content. I mean, if you can still make money out of this IP, why not?
Money isn't everything anymore when a game is successful. It sounds like they want to work on ...

Re: If you could land on the Shattered Planet, what would it be like?
I think it would be interesting to "unshatter" the planet.
The UI would present us with small floating isles on random trajectories. The only way to eventually build a factory would be to attach fitting pieces together so they can't drift away anymore. Techs would include small guiding jets and ...

While definitely true that what quality means in terms of the game and how quality works is poorly explained in game as well... however this is not even part of the gripes I have with the quality system. xD
Anyway I totally know how it works since I am using it myself. I just feel like it is ...

Re: I'm afraid of reddit influence
And while the idea of doing an older version is semi-reasonable, you're avoiding bug fixes to make your factory work your way if you commit to that.
Wait, the OP had a working factory before the update, that is the whole reason why he doesn't want to update to a then non-working factory. So ...

Re: Space Exploration / Space Age connection?
Space stuff was originally planned to be in the base game - it was mentioned I think in the crowd funding stuff, but was definitely mentioned in multiple FFFs - see https://factorio.com/blog/post/fff-95 where they say it was delayed until 0.13. It was later scrapped as being too much work to put ...

Maybe adding some slowly increasing base pollution to the game would mean they will never stop expanding and harassing you even if you stopped your pollution production
A modder should be able to make such a mod in a few minutes, unlike revamping the AI
