Re: Version 1.1.26
I am playing with a friend of mine. He uses the windows version 1.1.25 and is not able to update to 1.1.26. There is no update message when launching the game, trying about -> check for updates does not show an update.

Re: Sci fi novels and factorio?
I feel you. I also thought "enough is enough" after book 6. I don't know if it was the story in 5 & 6 or if it was reading 6 books. I paused for a year and read 7 & 8 last fall and I like the story again. It gets creepy again. Although I want to mention for you, that there is a lo...

Re: Sci fi novels and factorio?
I forgot do add to my recommendations:
The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein. I like its humor, and despite its (very situational) sexism (again? Damn me! At least, women rule the society on Luna..), its both funny and intriguing.

Re: Sci fi novels and factorio?
Whenever the story gets shitty to implement the next peace of action, I start to dislike the whole book/film/series really fast. Though humor or irony may compensate for it and make these "mistakes" forgivable for me. I do only keep books I like very much (like novels) or might need in the...

editor mode: manual rail deconstruction of mutliple rails (crossing / curve straight)
Sry for the unhandy title. I've tried to catch future search terms. edit This behavior does only exist in the editor mode. TL;DR In editor mode: when rails cross, only delete one segment instead of all. What ? When deconstructing a highlighted rail segment, actually all segments on that location get...

Re: enable option to remap / change key binding for redo action
Darn me.
Ok, you are right. I am not able to to a redo ingame. I was sure I used that in the past ..
I shuld have read ssilks post more carefully.

Re: enable option to remap / change key binding for redo action
I'm sorry, I think I misunderstand your post.
In factorio, it is currently possible to undo an undo with control + shift + y. For me, this is called "redo" (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undo for reference).

enable option to remap / change key binding for redo action
TL;DR Ignore this threat. At the moment (version 1.1.1) there is no redo functionality. What ? I want to be able to remap / change key binding for the redo action. Currently it is left shift + control + z. Without showing this in the key bindings menu, it's even hard to know that there is a redo ac...

Thank you!wobbycarly wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15, 2020 11:03 amInstead of "item" use "fluid". I think that's all you need, but if you turn on the debug mode and then hover over the item in the crafting menu it will show you the internal name.

rich text & fluids
To show items ingame in text, like in chat or as station names, you can type i.e. [item=iron-ore] and the image is shown instead of the text. For me, this does not work for fluids. [item=crude-oil] does not show the icon, instead the text is marked in yellow. What am I doing wrong? Are the internal ...

qol - auto-set second furnace in upgrade planner
What?
When using the upgrade planner to upgrade/downgrade furnaces, auto-set the new part (stone->steel or steel->stone), like done with rail signals, because electric furnaces are no option to replace. Why?

Respective belt changes:
Why are belts and rails placed differently? I imagine placing belts the way I place rails very attractive.
There once was a mod that did this
https://mods.factorio.com/mods/prg/beltplanner 0.16
