Re: Friday Facts #395 - Generic interrupts and Train stop priority
Maybe we’re getting too meta, but the first thought that came to mind for me was: Could we have a “no path” interrupt? Whilst letting the engineer know that they’ve created a situation where pathing is not possible, it could still be desirable to move that train to some kind of “depot” for debugging...

Thanks for the confirmation, just wanted to make sure they don't get written to /dev/null.
All the best to all of you, and I wish Kovarex a speedy recovery.

Is anyone monitoring factorio@factorio.com?
Hey folks, The contact page suggests that there are a few email addresses one might use to get in touch with the Wube team. It seemed that the most relevant to my request was the general contact email, so I sent a message there last week. Just wondering if the email is actually being monitored by th...

PyMods resource spawning - Railworld
Hey folks, I normally play Factorio using the Railworld resource settings (33% frequency, 300% size). Recently I’ve been looking at playing with all of the PyMods, so as I’ve been setting up a new world, I used those same settings for the resources added by the mods. However using the railworld sett...

Use of the factorio name
Are there any specific rules around the use of the factorio name? Clearly sites like factorioprints.com get away with using the name so far, but before starting down a project like that, which is related to factorio, but isn't blessed by the developers themselves, I wanted to know if there are any e...

Re: Friday Facts #360 - 1.0 is here!
Congratulations on the launch! I'm sure the dev team might still be in a bit of a stressed state, waiting to see how 1.0 works out, if there any any crazy bugs, etc. Fingers crossed that it's a smooth one. That being said, when we do get past the post-launch anxiety, I think now is a good time to do...

What's the plan for 1.0?
Assuming I am reading the latest FF correctly, tomorrow (In less than 24 hours because time zones) is the official release of version 1.0 of Factorio. Yet I'm not seeing a whole lot of activity here on the forum, the reddit, twitter, the official steam listing for the game, etc. doing a whole lot to...

Re: Friday Facts #356 - Blueprint library for real
The changes look like they're thoughtfully moving in the right direction as always, awesome! As for the motivation part: We've all been there (Or will eventually...). Remember that it's perfectly normal, and not a sign of you doing a bad job in some way. I'm glad something eventually came around to ...

100% agree with the framework bloat problem. It's like you cannot make a website these days without 5000 node.js dependencies, absolute madness.

Re: Canonical web resource of versions
Is there any documentation explaining what “alpha” means in this context? Is it the full game client? It means the same as it does on https://factorio.com/download - "Alpha is the standard full-featured build." Awesome! That’s exactly what I was looking for :) On another note, do we have ...

Re: Canonical web resource of versions
It was meant as a temporary solution. html is machine readable (just need the right lib to parse it) dunno which language he’s (she?) programming, but this kind of simple list is parseable with simple regex-stacking. It’s a BTN solution - of course. That’s definitely a possible temp solution. As ot...

Re: Canonical web resource of versions
Something like this : https://updater.factorio.com/get-available-versions ? Yes! It's a great start, although I think it could do with a few modifications for these kinds of purposes. It lists which version is currently "stable", but not explicitly which is "latest". Secondly it...

Canonical web resource of versions
This is part question part idea, as I don't know if it's already easily attainable somewhere. As someone who runs a server using a Docker container I've created myself, I'd love a way to automate the process of building a new container, when a new version of the game is out. My best idea currently i...

Re: Friday Facts #331 - 0.18.0 release & Train pathfinder changes
We made 0.18 a major version because it will break mods with all the changes we are making, and while initially it hasn't broken that much, many things to come will have a bigger impact, such as the Character GUI. Does this mean that later 0.18.x releases will break mods again? I think you should t...

Re: Supporting multiple Factorio (Major) versions
What the Frick. If you're going to disagree with people, at least do it in a respectful manner. And please understand that different developers work in different ways. Just because this works for you, doesn't mean you should undermine that others may be of a different opinion. What I and @Hanse00 s...
