Re: [MOD 0.13] AutoPvP - automated PvP map and forces

Will your turrets, flamethrowers, artillery, etc fire on the other teams?

Can you join other teams for 2v2, 2v2v2, 3v3, etc?

Btw on the provided screenshot with new spawners (which look nice to me) biters look just too merged with surroundings so I can barely see them at all. They definitely need more color and contrast added to them.
Wow, I didn't even see them there!

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)

Just make a faster belt upgrade. Problem solved. Adding a new tier of super-fast belt or belt speed research Inserters would either need a speed increase as well.. No, they don't need a speed increase. The advantage of belts over chests is that multiple inserters can add to and remove from belts. Wi...

Re: Best way to gift a factorio steam key

If you buy it from Factorio website, check the "gift" checkbox, and enter a friend's email address instead of yours, I guess he'll be the one who'll receive the key : 2017-12-10 12_01_09-Factorio.jpg Or you can always buy it to offer directly via Steam. That works too. Thanks but I'm wanting to pos...

[Solved] Best way to gift a factorio steam key

Hi all, As the topic says, what's the best way to get a [legit] steam key for gifting purposes? (pls not g2a but will go there if it's the only way) I purchased an additional key from the factorio website but it only lets me link it to my own account.. and the "Email me steam key" option is not avai...

Re: Friday Facts #169 - Combat revisit 2

I would like an option where biters do attack from the very beginning and slowly ramp up over time. And another option where it is possible to fall behind and lose. As it is the combat is too boring because there is no challenge. Because exploration is not a focus of this game you need the action to...

Re: Friday Facts #166 - Combat Revisit

Turret creeping is currently a required strategy if you play on the hardest difficulty and there is a giant worm on top of every oil source. You don't have access to lasers, tanks, auto shotguns or armor piercing shotgun shells. The only method I've discovered to deal with endgame worms pre-oil is t...

Re: Friday Facts #160 - Playtesting

It's nice that they've focused on the mechanics so much in this game and have removed a lot of tedium. But I think at least one person there should start focusing on the rest of the game. The game only has 2 biomes and they don't contain any different resources (only the trees look slightly differen...

Re: is the Multi-player browser server down?

I tried to log in to the mod portal from the main menu and received this error: "Couldn't parse the response from the auth server. This seems to be an internal server error." So I tried to download a mod directly from the website (which is still up) and got this error: "Application Error An error oc...

Re: Periodic Freeze/Crash (w/log)

Would there even be a log of this issue since the game didn't actually crash, it just froze? Here are the two logs I have: Current log: 0.006 2016-06-27 02:54:49; Factorio 0.12.35 (Build 18124, win64, steam) 0.006 Operating system: Windows 7 Service Pack 1 0.006 Program arguments: "C:\Program Files ...

Periodic Freeze/Crash (w/log)

Same issue here. My game is about 10hrs in and I have 90hrs played all up. I have 0 mods. I have an area that has multiple roboports and in fact most of my base has coverage. The crashes only happen in the core area of my base with everything going on. It has happened 2x now on this same save file i...

Re: Oil Mod for more Oil

Thank you all for the answers :) I have read a lot of times that you should never shut down a oil pump and put speed modules lvl 3 into them. I did that to 6 Oil pumps and it wasnt worth at all. I got like 30 Oil every 1 minute or something. Is it really worth or do i need like at least 50-100 Oil ...

Re: Just bought the game; What were Your first impressions?

Why do I need to control a man in an RTS game?
Why can I only build next to him?

Eventually I got over this and agreed that a main character with direct control can ground you in the world similar to the X3 games.

Re: What Indie/Less well known games do you play

I was going to say I also play Symphony of the Night, but then I realise you were talking about a different game. I'll be playing Salt and Sanctuary when my thumb fracture heals (2d platformer version of dark souls with some very limited metroidvania elements). I was playing overwatch with friends u...

Re: Anyone else hyped about the Civ VI announcement?

I've played them all but I don't get hyped about series that have missing features or serious bugs that don't get fixed in the first year of release.

I'll be adopting a wait and see approach with VI.

Re: Games Like Factorio

I agree The Settlers 1&2 are good production line games as is X3 Terran Conflict (or Albion Prelude with the latest patch - avoid X Rebirth at all costs though). I find it interesting that no one has mentioned the Anno series. The production queues are much more limited but the game also features ci...

Re: Role playing direction

Exploration Exploration is not interesting now, if we wanted to extend the roleplaying part, we would have to do a lot of with this, I can imagine more unique items, caves, different kinds of enemy bases etc. I agree on this point - there is nothing to discover. A good start would be ruined bases. ...

Re: Fight

The problem as such with biters and fighting in its current state is that biters are just too weak. When you have 134 destroyer robots following you even 100% evolved green biters die faster than you can sneeze. The players arsenal of weapons far out matches that of biters.(edit: balance issue here...

Why didn't I discover this game earlier?

Why didn't I discover this game earlier? I love games with production chains such as The Settlers (the original on Amiga), Banished, X3: Terran Conflict, and to a lesser extent the Anno series. Also Minecraft - though automating production chains is usually over-complicated or impossible. So mainly ...

Re: Hidden ores

The underground level doesn't have to be viewable so separate z-planes are not required. Like people said there could be various scanners and likelyhood of available minerals. Information could appear on an overlay or radar or heatmap. I quite like the way some games have resources that only appear ...
