Re: Inserting into belt corners
no he needs that first straight belt for this to work, without it, it'll put it on the opposite side. the reason this works is because in the corner, its moving towards the arm, instead of away from it, so it works opposite to how its shown in most tutorials, so instead of going upper left, it goes ...

Re: Spreadsheet of items requirements
In all honesty, this seems like the wrong approach. Theres too much empty space between cells to justify the use of a spreedsheet. The information here is a bit useless because what use is to know how many items are used to make what. Each one requires different amounts and they are produced at diff...

Re: Solar Panel return on investment
with the information given, 1 solar panel can fully charge 2 accumulators, assuming that the panel is running at half power while the other half is powering the factory. though since the day cycle is a lot longer than the night cycle, you wont need that many accumulators to power the night. and to k...

Re: Solar Panel return on investment
technically hes not even comparing resources, hes comparing energy cost.
which in fact is a bit useless since energy is an infinite resource. thats what we're trying to say.
though the analysis is nice. just not practical

Re: Solar Panel return on investment
yea plus energy isnt some finite resource either, so spending so much energy to get it back makes no difference really. if you really want to see if its worth building solar panels vs steam engines (which Im assuming is the question here since those are pretty much your only 2 sources of energy) the...

Re: taking items from the back instead of the front
but the whole point of the game is automation, you should be able to make the game do it for you!

taking items from the back instead of the front
for those of you who are not aware, you can limit the amount of items automation puts into boxes by clicking the x in the bottom right most corner and drag it up the line. when you do this, those spaces become red and automation will not put any items into those slots, but you can manually put items...

Re: Having trouble with train signals
I have taken the signals off before and the train works fine so the track isnt the problem, its the way the signals are placed. I'll try to upload the save when i get back from work. But yea that whole section is pretty much it. The ends of each path is a dead end train stop since im using a 2 engin...

Re: Tried to pick up a full chest...
A work around that I started doing is put down another steel chest, ctrl click an empty space in your inventory to put everything into the new chest. This gives you plenty of room to move the first chest contents. Then when your done, pick up the steel chest and all should be well

Re: Having trouble with train signals
I've also tried this method and still my train says no path. All lights were green and I was able to manually drive through it. Im wondering if it is failing because im using a double ended engine train.

Having trouble with train signals
so I have attached a screen shot of my game and I cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong. so the situation is I am using a 2 engine method, so I do not have any loops and Im just pulling and pushing with 2 engines. I also have 2 separate trains trying to go through this path (the second line is...

Re: Deleting items from inventory
another solution is to not make obsolete items, instead allow things to be upgraded into another, similar to how assembler 1 are used to make 2 and those are used to make 3. for those who arent aware, the obsolete items are wooden box, iron box, coal burning mining drills, stone furnace (to some ext...

Re: Self sustaining Solar Plant
I don't use solar panel, I don't know it feels too simple to me. You build them and then boom free power forever, not to mention you also get no pollution. So far in my worlds I go 100% coal power / oil power to run things. It generates tons of pollution but I need all resource types for the entire...

Re: Pirating as a 'demo'. Your opinions?
I read the first page of the post and TLRD after that. Anyone can see where this is going. I'm just throwing in my opinion. I did EXACTLY what the OP did. Pirated it, played it for a few weeks off and on, then purchased the top package. I've been a gamer for over 28 years and have been burned prett...

Re: Pirating as a 'demo'. Your opinions?
The problem with your reply is your trying on the coat in their presence, not taking it home leaving it in your closet or throwing it out afterwards and then saying you donβt like it and not paying for it. the bottom line is you took their work and didnt compensate them for it. It is the company's c...

Re: Tried to pick up a full chest...
Bots wont harvest chests if they have stuff in it. The construction bots (not logistics) will take the contents to the closest storage box

Re: Tried to pick up a full chest...
Been there done that, construction robots are your friend. Use them to dismantle stuff and they'll move extra items into storage for you. But yea i kind of wish they just make it you cant pick up a box if there isn't enough room in your inventory or you geta prompt if you really want to pick it up
