I really appreciate the technical details. It's very interesting to see how it's done. I was wondering some thing... is the closest zoom level in the game the graphics at a 1:1 pix scale?

Also with this new layout we can't see the activity in the boilers... the fire... I liked to see it as an indication of the current demand at a glance as I'm passing by.
Explosions are fun... love it... bots will take care of the damage anyway. I also can't wait for HD sprites.

I had an idea for the infinite research...
Why not just have a maintenance cost for each research type... Example, too be able too keep your range and damage at max you need to feed so many military packs in a certain time or the range and damage of your military items with start to decrease over ...

I can't wait for Hi-Res Graphics... 200+ hours in Factorio on my 1440P monitor with low-res graphics
;-( Factorio is my all time favourite game but I have only two complaints about it. Low res graphics and Science has no purpose after all research is done.

The new train layout tool make it super easy to run long tracks too... just have your logistics robots supply all the necessary track and run with it... Literally.

I'd like to see something more meaning then just resource sinks, like having a maintenance of the science. In order to keep the upgrades like bullet damage and item speeds you have to maintain them buy feeding the science labs.

I just wanted to say I played peaceful the first time I played the game because the biters kept taking me out... later I realized how much I was missing...
The biters are great fun and you can keep them out with walls, laser turrets, and a stable power supply. It's a blast to go out hunting ...
