@ Boilers
Seeing the fire in the boiler box is a nice feature.
If somebody figured out a sprite that would still allow for displaying the flames...
Please?

Re: Friday Facts #163 - New rails & New problems
Well. Imperfect circles used to be absolutely fine with 2D sprites.
But with the new sprites I am seeing this:
In the "imperfect circle" I see 4 "straight" pieces, forming two parallel pairs.
In each pair I see one of the "straight" piece much higher than the opposing "straight" piece.

Re: Friday facts #158 - The end of the 32 bit era
So, how hard would it be to release a 32-bit "unsupported" version?
As in: the underlying code is the same as the 64-bits version, recompiled for 32-bits, but the game is only supported for 64-bits, so if you only have a 32-bit system, and the port doesn't work, well, sorry about that, try a ...

Bump.
The "Let's Encrypt" certification authority is now available for everyone.
The goal of that project is free certificates + automatic expiration-handling tools

Re: running linux Factorio on an rpi
The devs /have/ thought about ARM.
The conclusion was something around RPI being probably okay (for non-modded game server?), if they had ARM binaries.

Re: Better RSS feed for news posts
I was hoping to create a NEWS mode feed for "General"
The phpBB documentation said "Feed that shows first post of the topics in selected forums."
But at the same time it says that the URL is "feed.php?mode=news"
I guess I'm not the one who gets to select the forums?

Factorio a primary topic of ČT's show DVA^3 ?
I just caught a glimpse of an ad of Česká Televize's
new gaming show for kids called "Dva na třetí"
The ad showed ONLY minecraft and factorio footage.
Does anyone know any details about it?

Since you are everyone, shouldn've you said
"I wrote all the comments, not me." instead?
PS: this is just useless text. So it would be offtopic anywhere I'd say.

There are many other thread complaining about the map download DoSing their internet,
possibly also crashing ppl's routers and breaking the map joining altogether.
One of them should be linked here, buch which one is the main one?

Re: Freeze prevention on MP download/join
The clog situation needs to be fixed anyway.
I think that buffering at the connecting client could work well,
while buffering at the client would complicate the game loop
and lead to more corner cases with more clients joining at once.

If you want to separate lanes, look for the lane splitter trick.
If you are mising several items in one lane, well, it's a bad idea in the long run.

Re: [0.12.1] train signal symetric inconsistency
So this is all about signals binding to / recognizing track?
Pehaps a picture with those symmetric layouts, a clear "---> mirror image ---->" label
and then captions on signals "works if 1st", "works if 2nd", "always broken", "always broken"?
Sure the devs can read the signal much better than me ...

I think that's why the introduced the constant combinators.
Because using a smart chest and filling it with real items would be clunky.
